Mabel laughed. Her laughter seemed to ring throughout the room, throughout the hallway and echo into the world. It filled Pacifica's ears like music, the most beautiful melody.

Pacifica sighed at the sound. She was really, really into Mabel, but she couldn't figure out why. Mabel just seemed, glowing. Beautiful, strong, confident.

Everything Pacifica knew she wasn't.

But that didn't stop her from focusing solely on Mabel. Mabel was perfect. Something Pacifica tried to be so hard to be, and somehow it came to Mabel naturally.

"Mabel, can I talk to you?" she asked, touching the brunette's arm and eyeing the floor. She could feel the sparks coursing through her fingertips when they made contact with the Pines girl. It gave Pacifica a boost of confidence. "Alone," she said quietly.

Mabel nodded. "Let's go to my locker, we can talk there, Paz!" she said cheerily. Pacifica gulped and followed Mabel out of the lunchroom. Now or never.
