I plopped myself down on my bed, 'I can't believe I'll be here for almost a month with no WiFi...that's like social suicide' I face palmed at the thoughts of missing out on all the happenings - like how Aidan planned to break up with Becca and the videos of Gracie's summer party, they were a lot of things I was going to miss out on.
I guess you forgot aunt said there was a cafe that has WiFi around here
My subconscious reminded me and then it hit me like a light in a dark tunnel.*********************************
"...I'm going to move into the café," I said at dinner to my aunt who was stuffing some broccoli into her mouthShe looked at me stunned by what I had just uttered, well, of course I am full of surprises, shouldn't she know that already.
"Ivy, you can't just stay all day glued to your phone screen, its not healthy... And you can't move there cos you'd be a great inconvenience, I can't imagine customers coming in and seeing a teenage girl brushing her teeth or attending to them with morning breath" she said as she chuckled, I guess she was picturing the scene.
"Not that Olivia would mind you staying with her but I don't want to bug her with any more issues," she added, I didn't press on to the matter, knowing fully well that Olivia was going through a lot she had just recently lost her husband and she was trying to manage the café alone, she was passing through a hard phase.
"You could always visit, but you won't move in" my aunt said on a more serious note that meant no more further discussions on this topic.
I continued eating my salad, waiting for tomorrow to come faster , I could not wait to talk to Phoebe.
Dinner came to an end as we had both finished eating, I cleared the table and washed the dishes.
I went to my room thereafter, I stepped into the shower and turned it on, I always loved the feel of water rolling down my skin and soaking my hair, cooling down my temperature and washing away the day's stress, I always felt that the shower worked magic and it seemed to work for me.
I stepped out of the bathroom in a big shirt and bum shorts and my pair of fluffy slip ons, the cool breeze on my skin gave me a refreshing feel, I loved the feel after every shower.
I got a book out of my bag and started reading,I always have a pile of books in my bag whenever I leave home, because books, music and food are the only things that keep me going at times.
I pulled out a book , Under currents by Nora Roberts, and began reading, Nora is one of my favorite writers I love her works.
Soon, a blanket of sleep covered me and I drifted to sleep.
***********************************
I woke up to see 24 missed calls from Phoebe, I hit her number up on speed Dial."Hey Pheebs" I said yawning
"Hello stranger...guess you forgot you had a best friend, who was waiting for even a single text" Phoebe said clearly annoyed with me.
"I didn't forget about ya, you know I can never do that...but there hasn't been a single service bar ever since I got here...it's even a miracle that you got to me" I tried to explain as I hopped out of bed.
"Is it that bad?" she asked with concern laced in her voice
"Yup, and there's no WiFi here so I'll have to go to some café, if I want to be able to access the internet" I said as I stepped into the bathroom and squeezed some tooth paste onto my brush.
"Two words...social suicide, how are you going to survive?" She asked
"Well, I'll manage... anyway, I want to shower, I'll be going to the café in an hour, I'll call you later"
