Everything was moving too fast, as Ivy come back with Catherine, I thought she'd scream and jump all over me but since she didn't, it dawned on me that she didn't know who I was and I didn't want to change how she saw me.
"Ivy this is..." I couldn't let Cath ruin this, not now at least,
"I'm Liam" I said sticking my hand out for a handshake, I noticed Cath had risen one brow, I gave her an 'I'll explain later' look
Ivy flashed a small smile, this was the first time I had seen her smiling at least to me and I was mind blown to say the least.
"Nice to meet you,Liam, I guess you know my name already" she said shaking my hand.
I loved the way my name sounded while rolling off her tongue and her hands were very soft and delicate.
Catherine coughed and that's when I realized I hadn't let go of Ivy's soft hand, I looked at Ivy, and noticed she was wondering why I hadn't let go of her, I felt blood rush up my cheeks, she brought out the awkward side in me, I had to admit.
"Why don't you guys get well acquainted before my mom starts throwing pans around... Spoke too late" Cath said as we heard a pan drop to the floor and Olivia's voice followed,
"Catherine where have you hidden the sugar?" She asked,
"I'm coming mom" she said as she rushed to the back, so I stood up as swift as I could to pull out a seat for Ivy, she smiled again and mouthed a thank you, I don't think I'll ever get tired of that smile.
I sat back on my seat and saw Ivy fidgeting with her phone, I furrowed my eyebrows at her wondering what seemed to be making her uneasy.
"Why did I have to forget the password?" She said nearly above a whisper.
"Need some help...I know the password" I said to her after a chuckle,
"Can you help me fill it in, where I stay there's no internet connectivity, none the less WiFi" she said as she handed me her phone
I took the phone from her briefly touching her hands, I swear I felt sparks, was I the only one or was she also?
I typed in the password and her phone began to have notifications, I handed it over to her, she scrolled through and started chatting or doing some social media surfing.
"Wait, can I see that picture?" I asked as she showed me the picture.
"Did you make this?" I asked after examining the mouth watering picture.
She gave a hearty laugh, omg this girl was just too perfect.
"No, I downloaded it, I like to admire well cooked meals," she said after she stopped laughing
"I see ,what a unique hobby you have there" I said as I handed her back her phone, she laughed again.
"I can see you're clearly have a low sense of detecting sarcasm"
"Oh, you made it... Thank goodness, for a second back there I thought you were a weirdo" I said as she feigned hurt.
"Ouch...that's an insult to my collection of lasagna and casseroles" she said and we both laughed.
"Okay but seriously if you made that, I believe you're a good cook"
"One of the very best you'll meet" she snickered as her lips curved into a smirk.
"So what other hobbies do you have besides cooking and being sarcastic" I asked as Catherine came around
Ivy laughed, she seemed to love laughing alot.
"Good thing you both are getting along, for a sec while I was in the kitchen I thought Ivy would have ripped your head off" Cath said as I gasped.
Ivy nudged her in the stomach, "me? You're gravely mistaken even if I was looking for a way to terminate him I'd go with a less stressful method" she said grinning mischievously.
"I see"
They both turned to me and laughed at my expression.
"Cath, I'm in the mood for a latte could you get me some?" Ivy asked politely as Cath nodded therefore penning down her request.
"Would you like anything?" Cath asked me, I hesitated for a while, I didn't want her thinking I was cliché so...
"I guess the usual right?" She asked about turning on her heels
"No... I'll have a latte extra foamy" I said as she looked at me surprised, I had never ordered a latte here not to mention anything with caffeine and here I was ordering the same thing Ivy had.
Ivy's eyes were glued to her phone screen, I decided to take out my phone, I had 10 missed calls from my mom, she's been trying to blackmail me back home, after making me promise to attend my brother's ceremony.
The cups were served and Ivy started sipping her latte, to be honest, I've never taken coffee before, not even a little drop, so I was... Uhm, not ready.
Ivy seemed to be enjoying her latte, while I was having a stare down with mine and I hate to admit, it was winning.
"Liam" Ivy called out to me as I looked at her.
"You're British right?"
"Isn't that already obvious?" I replied as I unconsciously sipped the latte, when I realized what I had just put in my mouth.
I spat it out not knowing where and who it landed on."Well seems like the little British boy doesn't go well with coffee... I thought maybe your whole 'British' accent was a faux, but it seems you prefer tea to coffee by the looks of this..." Ivy said as she laughed and tried to help me wipe off the spilled latte that had stained my blue hood.
She wiped the stains off while saying some things, I wasn't hearing whatever she was saying, I was just admiring and taking in every little detail about her, the way she was meticulous and the way she spoke. She was beautiful both inside and out, no two ways about it.
