It was so quiet as I stood there, barely breathing heavier than normal while looking at the two men in front of me. Dropping my gaze as I looked at my left hand, my face was twisted into a pissed-off expression that perfectly showed how I felt. My fingers were covered in blood, and I could feel it dripping down to my elbow.
Lowering my hand, I silently advanced on the men on the ground and grabbed the one still conscious. Flipping him over onto his back, his tears were streaking the blood on his face that was already bruised and starting to swell. Holding him up by the front of his shirt, his voice came out weak and barely coherent since he was missing teeth.
"You....You want a....rematch?" He panted. "The....moment you went into....the chatroom....and typed 'FR'....this place....became the meeting point....for every....single Fam's dad." His busted lips twitched and curled into a grin as he cough-laughed. "We've....fought without worrying....about numbers. It didn't matter....we were fighting....against one....or twenty. What....what about you? Are you scared....to fight a dozen men?" He coughed again and raised his voice as loud as he could. "All right! Come on out!"
I simply glanced at the doors but there was no one there. Nobody stepped into the warehouse from any direction, so my eyes went back to the man in my hold.
"You can't see it....but you're alone." I said lowly, and his smile fell. "No one's here." Lifting him up higher, I could still feel the blood on me dripping as I held him to be eye level with me. "Now....tell me where the rest of you are."
Suddenly, a wall exploded as a bus came crashing in with the driver screaming at the top of his lungs.
"DON'T HAVE A FLY!! YOU FUCKFACE!" But he wasn't yelling at me, he was yelling at-
"Zack?!" Daniel gasped, seeing the boxer standing there with wide eyes and some bag. Time seemed to slow as the bus was still going, and I let go of the beaten man. My vision seemed to zero in on Zack alone as everything else faded out. The poor boy was like a deer in the headlights, just frozen there and not moving at all.
Until I crashed into him.
Grabbing the front of his hoodie and twisting, I only barely managed to get him out of the way of the giant vehicle. One of my shoes went flying from the corner of the bus grazing my foot, and I clenched my jaw from pain as I skidded across the concrete floor with Zack on me. The boy still seemed in shock as he was looking down at me, and I grunted.
"Move."
"I was so glad to see you. I was gonna give you a phone. And ask how Jiho's doing. It was just like a movie that we met. And you just had to stick with a bad ending. You fucker!" Some guy in hospital clothes stormed off the bus with a hammer in hand. Pushing Zack to the side, I quickly got up while ignoring the throbbing, stinging pain in my left shoulder and back.
The stranger swung his hammer, but I spun and drove my heel into his cheek. I heard some popping before he went flying as a few teeth fell from his mouth. Watching him land like a ragdoll, I waited to see if he'd get back up. A few seconds passed, but he wasn't moving at all.
Walking over, I grabbed a fistful of his hair and lifted his head to check his pulse. Welp, he was still alive, so I dropped him and sighed.
"....M-Mia...."
"Not now, Daniel." I sighed as I walked right past him and picked up my hoodie from the ground. Digging out my phone from one of my pants pockets, I called Conner while heading toward the hole in the wall where the bus had come from. "Conner."
"Yes, Boss?"
"Tell June's informant here to contact me."
"Why? What happened?"
