Looking over my list yet again, I wanted to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything. My tongue ran over my lollipop as my eyes scanned over the list of materials, and it looked as if I had gotten everything. Readjusting my hold on the bags, I looked up and caught people staring because of all the heavy wood resting on my shoulder.
I had a new job to build a dog house and had to go out and get more wood, nails, shingles, and a few other things. The dog was a medium-sized breed, so I didn't have to build the house too big.
Passing by an alley, I froze in my tracks when I heard a familiar name being spoken.
"Hey, Jace. Your leader isn't picking up. So everyone except Vasco was full of shit, huh? I thought you guys were supposed to be all monsters?" I turned, and my eyes went wide at seeing a bunch of the Burn Knuckles all bloody on the ground in front of some guys wearing God Dog jackets.
"Ugh....guys....I'm sorry...." Jace coughed while holding his stomach, and I slowly turned into the alley, blinking just to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.
"I'm disappointed. So long, Burn Knuckles." A male with dyed red hair pulled back his fist to punch but stopped just before hitting Jace when my teeth loudly cracked my lollipop in half.
"Oi...." I dropped all of the wood on my shoulder, making another loud noise as they turned to me, and I dropped the bags in my other hand. "What are you doing in our territory?" My voice was eerily calm, and Jace shook his head.
"Back off, Mia...." He coughed. "You know Vasco's rules."
"Vasco's rules?" The redhead laughed and grabbed a fistful of Jace's hair to yank his head back. "What rules?"
"Burn Knuckles don't....fight for no reason." The big-eared male panted. "Vasco....decides when we fight."
"Idiot. You're so full of shit." The redhead popped off while the other guys were laughing.
"Then Vasco is just gonna be upset with me for a while." I sighed while stretching my neck before stretching my arms.
"Why are you talking so big, girl? Just go on and let the big boy's-" The God Dog talking down to me got slammed into the nearest wall with my hand on his face.
"Mia!" Jace gave me a look, and my own gaze turned dark as I looked at the other God Dogs.
"Oops. My hand slipped." Letting the male on the wall go, he fell to the ground while unconscious.
"....Hey, that's the Tasmanian Devil!"
"Oh? So the Queen appears?" The redhead grinned and stood up all of the way while looking at me. "Shorter than I imagined, but why don't we see exactly what you can do?"
"Mia! Run! Don't-"
"Too late." I popped off as I grabbed the hand reaching for me and twisted it behind the guy's back and forced him to his knees as he cried out in pain. Looking right at the redhead that seemed to lead this small group of God Dogs, I leaned on the guy I had and put pressure on his arm to make him cringe and yell. "You made me angry. You know what happens when a Tasmanian devil gets angry?"
Jace held up his hand as if to stop me and keep me from disobeying the way of the Burn Knuckles, but in technicality, I was doing as the Burn Knuckles did. Fighting to protect. I was fighting to protect the bloody Burn Knuckles on the ground that were panting and coughing from getting their asses handed to them.
A scream ripped through the air after a loud pop from me dislocating the male's shoulder. His arm hung limply when I let go, and I twisted on my heel to swing my fist at the nearest God Dog and took him out as blood arched through the air. I spun again, driving my heel into another's jaw before ducking a fist swung at me.
