"When were you guys planning on telling me about that fight you got in?" I asked while standing in the front of the classroom with my arms crossed. I was leaning back against the teacher's desk, and the Burn Knuckles were sitting on their knees in front of me with expressions similar to a puppy being scolded.

"....You heard about that?" Jace nervously laughed while rubbing the back of his head.

"Only because some kid was talking about it in the hallway." I narrowed my gaze. "You think because I'm not one of you that you can just fly into fights without telling me?"

"It was kind of a 'spur of the moment' thing. You know, last-minute warning?"

"I don't care what it was. Next time, one of you call me. As punishment, each of you must present me with a snack." I stated while raising my chin. "Failure to do so is not acceptable." I heard the door opening from my side as I spoke.

"Yes, ma'am!" They all shouted at the same time. Looking over to the door, I saw a few upperclassmen from our department standing there. They were looking from me to the Burn Knuckles, and back, then just closed the door and left.

"It's noisy. Do they own this place?" Jace said with irritation as we were in the library. Vasco had somehow convinced me to study with them, but other kids from school were there as well and being rather loud. I was used to a bunch of loud talking since the people from my old school hardly ever shut up.

"Vasco....it's so noisy, huh? Should I talk to them?"

"....Jace? Our telepathy....will it work during the test, too?" Vasco asked before a stream of tears dripped down his cheeks. Even Woong started crying. Looking at him, I chewed the inside of my cheek while thinking. I myself had trouble understanding the material, so it wasn't as if I could help him, and Jace's notes were seemingly going over Vasco's head.

After they left, I stuffed my hands into my pockets and went to the section in the library filled with reference books. Looking them over, I grabbed some of them and went to the front desk with the books before going home.

~

"Hey, honey, thought you might- What the fuck are you doing?!" Mom said with utter shock as she stepped into my room.

"Uh, yeah, thanks." I mumbled while taking the tea from her since my desk was right next to the door. Setting it down in a clear space, I went back to studying and taking as many notes as I could. It was harder than Hell, but I needed to understand the material that would be on the tests. "And what does it look like I'm doing?"

"Studying! Oh, my God, I'm telling your father when he gets home! He's so not going to believe this!"

"Whatever." I muttered, not even looking up as I turned the page in one of the books. I then heard the shutter of a camera. "Mom!"

  "I need proof!"

At one of our study sessions in the library, I pulled out the notes I had spent forever working on and dropped them in front of Vasco. He looked confused before glancing at me.

"I remembered beating up this kid back in Australia, he used to steal work from the smart kids." I stated, which wasn't a lie, I truly had done that, but what I said next wasn't quite the truth. "These were some notes I forgot to find the owner to. Kind of late to give 'em back now, so you can look them over."

  "Really?" Vasco lit up.

"Yeah. I checked them out, and they're pretty easy to follow, so you should be able to get something out of them." I replied.

"Thanks, Mia." He smiled before flipping the notebook open. Jace looked over his shoulder to get a look at the notes, and I set to finishing my homework. When I glanced up, however, Jace was giving me a suspicious look, and I couldn't figure out why.

~

"Mia! It worked! I passed!" Vasco was like a happy puppy as he looked down at me.

  "Barely." Jace popped off.

"Yeah, but he still passed." I smirked. "Good for you, Vasco. You must have studied super hard." Pointing at him, I smiled. "I'll get you some chocolate milk as a reward."

"Really? Thanks!" He smiled from ear to ear. ....He really likes chocolate milk. I'd buy him 100 chocolate milks if it made him that happy.
