Surprise Mia Attack

  "What?!" Jace shouted. "There are people here to kill Vasco?!"

  "Yeah! The freshmen are chasing him right now!"

  "Let's go!"

  "How dare they go after Vasco!"

  "We need to protect him!" And the Burn Knuckles were storming off like a group of stampeding animals.

  "The Burn Knuckles are as energetic as usual...." Big Daniel muttered. "But Vasco being targeted?"

  "Hm?" The big guy finally looked up from his ice cream, oblivious to what just happened.

  "They say someone's after you, Vasco."

  "....Hm? Me?" He looked surprised. I didn't bother storming off with the others since I didn't see the point. I mean, we had no clue who it was, nor if we'd be able to find them, so if someone truly was after Vasco, it'd be better to be right there with him. That, and seeing him in that Burn Knuckles leather jacket was a pleasant sight on its own. However, I simply looked at him while eating my own ice cream and said nothing.

  Vasco looked to be thinking, then began to walk in the direction the others had run off in. Following him, I wondered where he was headed to. After about a block, he called Jace, but his second-in-command wasn't picking up, making him sort of pout.

  "Mia....they all left me." He whined. Looking up at him, I sighed through my nose before glancing around.

  "I think they turned this way." And I began to lead the Burn Knuckles leader around. After three blocks, Vasco tugged on my sleeve.

  "Do you think they ran this way?" Following his gaze, I saw a street that indeed looked as if a stampede had passed through.

  "Yup." After a while of walking, Vasco just went into some building, and I followed him.

  "Did you say someone's after me?" I heard him say as he entered a room full of people.

  "Vasco!"

  "Jace."

  "How did you find us?!"

  "You weren't picking up....so I used telepathy."

  "You just searched every block, didn't you?!"

  "Nah, Jace, it might have really been telepathy. Nearly came straight here." I popped off.

  "Brekdak?!"

  "Basco?!" Some shirtless, foreign guy shouted back in almost equal surprise as Vasco.

  "You know each other?!"

  "We worked together, and he's also my muay thai master." The leader explained.

  "Basco? How are you?"

  "WHAAAT?!" But before things could escalate more, a familiar guy from Notte World came up and explained why he was there along with some other gangster-looking guys.

  "Hmm....I see. So you....came here to return it. To me...."

  "Kept misunderstanding me....and chased me...."

  "I see. Thank you." Vasco took the money the nervously sweating guy offered him, then held it out to the fat man with a scar over his eye. "I'm going to repay Brekdak's debt."

  "B-Basco?! Why would you?! Th-That's-!"

  "Hmph! That's touching. But what're you going to do about our men's treatment and the damages to the office....?"
