I was a bit surprised to see Isaiah here tonight. I knew mama talked about us coming together as siblings when I was little but it became non-existent when we grew up. Saying we're adults now and need to handle it ourselves. I just began giving up on the idea of us ever being like real siblings. It was a surprise to see him here now wanting to talk. I wonder why. "So-"

"I'm sorry," he said cutting me off. "For everything. For the things I said. the way I treated you, I'm sorry for all of it."

I looked at him in confusion. "Why?"

He sighed and rubbed his head in frustration. "I...I've been wanting to apologize for a while now. I knew it wasn't right but I convinced myself you deserved the way I treated you. I blamed my family breaking up on you because I couldn't blame our dad."

"I see," I said.

"Yeah. When we were locked up, Zy told me what happened. Our dad is dead right?"

"You didn't know?"

"No. Mom just told us he didn't care about us anymore and didn't want to see us. I went to her and got her to spill the truth. I feel like a complete idiot," he sighed. "I blindly listened to everything she's been saying for years. I just...I didn't know how to control the hate and anger I felt towards him for leaving us. I thought we were good and happy. But I guess he wasn't."

"Well I'm sorry you didn't know. And I'm happy you apologized but that's not going to fix anything. What you and Taylor did to me, said to me all these years, it's too much to just sweep under the rug. I understand you had no idea but I can't just forgive you that easily."

"I know. I just want to have the chance to prove to you that I am sorry. I want to try and be your big brother. A real one."

I nodded. "I'm glad but I'm going to need some time."

"Okay. Thanks for giving me a chance Mo. I really mean it. I'm going to be a better big brother to you."

I nodded and went back inside. Everyone already had their plate and was laughing when we came back. "You straight?" Zy asked with his eyebrow risen.

I shrugged. "Mostly." I went back to my seat next to him. I didn't even notice his wife Zoe was here. I smiled a little and waved. She did the same.

"Mo, weren't you saying what happened with the meeting?" Mama asked.

"Oh yeah," Zy said turning to me. "Don't try and get out of it nigga. What happened?"

"I wasn't trying to get out of it. We got distracted. Well, I went to HR about Jayden since he was causing too much friction in the work place. She basically disregarded what I was saying and asked if I led him on and all type of mess."

"You're kidding?" Mama raised her brow. "Let me make a phone call real quick."

"Chill," I said eyeing her. "I'm not even done."

"Alright continue. Let me make sure I got them on speed dial."

I rolled my eyes. So extra. "Anyways, after that I was supposed to talk to the big bosses about my team basically boycotting work. I tried everything humanly possible to get them to do some work BEFORE putting the request in for an entirely new staff. But apparently the big bosses were too busy to deal with me and let HR handle it."

"This doesn't sound good," Leek said. "What did they say?"

"Again, she basically blamed me for my team not cooperating. Saying my leadership skills suck basically because these same people have been working for the company longer than I have and no one has ever had a problem with them. She told me I have to find a way to cooperate and not just fire a bunch of people."
