Chapter 18

Kasumi's POV:

"....huh?"

I stared at Midnight for a moment while she gave me a serious face then a smirk.

"You heard me. You will be on your own team," she says with a hand on her hip. I continued to stare at her with confusion and disbelief. She takes a deep sigh then looks at the crowd. "You are probably wondering why you are being on your own team, right?"

I snapped out of my confused state and nodded.

"Well, you know everything about the Sports Festival and how it works. And you also had some experiences with it. You have trained and learned about everything in UA," she says. I continue to stay quiet while she continues. "So me and your father had a agreement for you to have more of a challenge."

She turned towards me with a smile on her face. "That's why you are on your own team."

The more I think about it, the more I understand. To be honest, if I had a team, I would have probably got enough points to make it into the next round. I nod then look up at Midnight. She puts a hand on my shoulder, giving me a motherly smile.

"I know you can do it."

In her other hand was my points for 2nd place. I nod, taking the bands and gave her a small smile. We said our goodbyes then I walked off the stage to the rest of the freshmens. She believes in me. So does my father and the other heroes. I can't fail them.

Todoroki's POV:

(Finally and different POV instead of Kasumi's :/ )

I see Kasumi walking down the stage after her talk with Midnight. 'I wonder what they were talking about...'

My thought were interrupted when I heard someone calling my name. I turn around to see Yaoyorozu.

"Everyone is getting ready. We should do the same," she said with a slight smile on her face. I nod as we walk towards the rest of our group, Iida and Kaminari. As I get onto the top, i noticed Kasumi in one corner, alone. This confused me. It confused me more as I watched her tie her bands around her neck. She looks determined but why wasn't she on a team?

"Hey Todoroki, are you okay?" asked Iida. I look down at him giving him a slight nod then back at everyone else. I can't keep thinking about something that's not my business. It was probably something she talked about with Midnight. Right now, my goal is to go after Midoriya..

Back to Kasumi's POV:

I saw that some people were staring at me but I ignored it. I had to make a plan. Easy. It's obvious that mostly everyone will go after Midoriya. So this is my chance to get more points from other teams while they are distracted. And if I have enough, I might try and score for the ten million headband.
