Chpt 2: Welcome to the Team
Yugo eyes began to slowly open. It took him a moment, very gorgy before finally things began coming back to him. Yugo bolted up as he remembered everything that just happened. “Peya.” He said. Yugo looked about and recognized he was in his home. “How ...how did I get here?” He looked at the clock. It was only 7pm now. Yugo then noticed on his arm a bandaged. He soon remembered Peya’s first move and then remembered the pain. “It…..it did happen.” Before he could dwell a moment longer, the door opened and he saw Origami standing in the doorway.
“Origami? Why are you in my house?” Yugo asked. “I brought you here. You were knocked out and carried you here.” Origami said as he walked over and sat on Yugo’s bed, checking his arm. “It doesn’t hurt, does it?”
“Not really. Just a bit numb.” Yugo said.
“That’s good. What do you remember?” Origami asked. This all but confirmed for Yugo at this point what he thought.
“Everything….”
“In that case, Kotori and Shido are waiting down stairs.” Origami got up.Soon did Yugo and the two headed downstairs. Entering into the living room/kitchen, Yugo saw the Brother-Sister pair sitting at the dining table. Kotori first noticed Yugo, and soon Shido turned to look at his friend. “Yugo, you alright?” Shido asked. “Feeling like a Red-Eyes being used for stalling.” Yugo said as Kotori rolled her eyes. “So….why are you all in my house?” Yugo asked. “Cause we need to talk about your little game with Peya.” Kotori said.
“You guys say that?” Yugo asked.
“All of it.” Origami said. “I was present in person.”
“You might want to take a seat Yugo…. You kinda got pulled into something you might not have been ready for.” Shido said. Yugo took a seat, though seemed a bit unsure of what is going on.“Tell me Yugo, what do you know about Spirits?” Kotori asked.
“Spirits? Like, ghosts?” Yugo asked. “No, Spirits are much different.” Kotori said. “To put it Simply, Spirits are girls who have special abilities and are from another world.” Kotori explained.
“So then like….. Dimensional Mages?” Yugo said.
“That’s one way to put it.” Shido said.
“But what does this have to do with the Duel between me and Peya?” Yugo asked.
“We believe that Peya was a Spirit…. Or, some kind of Spirit.” Kotori said. She pulled out a card and passed it to Yugo. Yugo looked at the card, Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Peacock. Yugo noticed off the bat, the monster on the card looked just like Peya, just in different clothing. “Wait, are you saying that Peya was a duel monster?” Yugo asked. “Yes. It could be that Peya and maybe that woman are one of these “Duel Monsters” We don’t know everything, of course.” Kotori said.
“So then why are you telling me all of this?” Yugo said. “I am assuming you guys are part of some Government thing trying to keep this under control.”
“Because it could be there are more girls like them. If you had lost, we are certain you would have lost more than a Duel.” Origami said.
“And because your the only one we know that plays this game. It’s clear these girls will only respond to this game.” Kotori said.
“Then you need me to Duel these girls in a sort of Death game now, just in the off chance they are planning something?” Yugo said before shaking his head.“Yeah, I know it’s kinda weird, and I’m sure you don’t want to-” Shido began but Yugo cut him off. “Who said I didn't want to? Listen, yeah, it's all crazy and weird. But I’ve seen it. Plus from what that woman said I already guessed things have gotten crazy. So if you need me to help, then you got it.” Yugo said.
“Wow, didn't take anything to convince you.” Kotori said with a smirk.
“Didn't need to. Besides, just kinda got a gut feeling telling me I need to agree to this.” Yugo said.
