Chapter 12: Calamaty vs Hope + Epolouge
“Yugo!” Miku and the others were frantically searching the room at first. Before long, their attention turn towards Strix who just stood there. Origami pounced and grabbed the girl by her coat, Metatrons crown surrounding the girl. “Where are they?” She asked, her tone cold. Strix smirked. “He’s about to meet whatever made that freak.” Strix giggled. Lights glowed form Metatron, but before they fired, Shido got a call from Kotori. “Shido, we found Yugo.” She quickly said. “Origami wait!” Origami looked at Shido. “Kotori, where is he?” He asked his little sister.
“He’s….on the roof.” Kotori said as even she had to double check if this is what she is looking at.
“On the roof?” Shido asked, and everyone became just as confused.
“Yes, we have visual of them. The Territory is down too, but only so it can guard them.” Kotori told Shido.“Right! Come on, we gotta get to the roof!” Shido said. Everyone nodded and Origami let go of Strix as they ran out. Strix just laughed watching them, tears in her eyes as she sank to her knees. “If only you can watch too Gale.” She said.
…..
In Fraxinus, Kotori and her crew watched the two up on the roof. Reine was feeling worse about this, watching the last Duel was a bit hard. But she knew, as well as every one, this will prove to be the worst Duel. She had done a little research beforehand and learned about the True Dracos. A Deck that had the possibility for an out to everything, as well as strong attack power. “Yugo….” Reine softly whispered.
…..
Yugo stumbled up as he regain feeling to himself, seeing Saizo stand before him on the edge of the roof overlooking the city. “Apologies. I suppose this isn’t your prefered method of movement, but I need us to be alone and fast and knowing your friends, this wouldn’t happen on it’s own.” Saizo said. He let out a deep breath as he took off his mask, but Yugo was unable to see it. “It gets uncomfortable with this thing on….but it’s needed. I wouldn’t want to scare you with what my face has become.” Saizo said.
“How thoughtful.” Yugo said bluntly.
“Yugo, tell me. What is it about my plan you fight against?” Saizo asked.
“Pretty sure that whole War thing. I mean, I get that there are some evil people out there but you forget that good people possibly works for them for a good reason. Plus, when the other governments rise up, you will be responsible for possibly tons of good lives being taken.”
“I understand that feeling, the what ifs of life. But you as a Duelist should know; it’s hopeless to dwell on those thoughts. We must do what is best for ourselves. I would have thought as well by now you would have hardened a bit. You have reduced a few of my girls into cards.” Saizo said.
“You’re comparing a card to a human….”
“Do they not have free will? Do they not have motives and reasons to live? To serve me?”
“I met the likes of Blaze and El. All they wanted to do was just hunt and harm people.”
“Because that is what they wanted. Peya simply wanted to prove yourself. Strix and Gale? They wanted to live in this world in harmony like those twins. Do you mean to tell me that somehow, the beings who can destroy entire blocks of this city, they are allowed to live freely, but my girls must be snuffed out?”
Yugo didn’t say a word. He didn’t know what to say. “I cannot hope for you to understand. You are only a child still, your view black and white.” Saizo put his masked back on and turned to Yugo. “This is why I wish to help you. To show you the truths of this world, and of what you are.” Saizo approached Yugo who just took a step back. “Please Yugo. To meet someone with so much potential.”
