Game 1: Turn 4

Chpt 4: Date a Duelist Prt 1

"Ow." Yugo jolted a bit as Reine applied some disinfect to his cheek. "Surprised after the beating you took, something small like that would make you react." Shido teased. "Yeah well the adrenaline is starting to fade." Yugo said, sounding tired now. Seems like this Duel really took a bite out of him, but guess they can't blame him, now they see it's for real. The small tears on Yugo's jacket and pants made it clear, as well as the injury on his cheek, made it clear he was in pain, but luckily nothing life threatening. Koroti also had Yugo scanned and noted whatever Spirit Energy he had was now gone, so she cannot be sure what it may have been they detected.

"There. You need some rest." Reine asked. They were no longer on the ship but at Shido's house. "You sure?" Yugo asked. "Yeah it's fine. You can rest in my room." Shido offered him. Yugo nodded. "Sure, why not." Yugo said as he got up. "Thanks." Shido took Yugo to show him to his room. Reine left wordlessly, probably to help Kotori with the Data and look up any connections that may exist.

As the Spirits just sat around, Kurumi smirked. "So, Miku." Miku looked at the Spirit Code Named Nightmare. "What's the connection between you and Yugo?" She asked and everyone was immediately looking at them. Miku got a small blush and crossed her arms. "I have no clue what you are referring to." Miku said.

"Don't lie, know what I am talking about. I know you don't like boys but the way you were acting around Yugo wasn't normal for you. You acted more like a Highschool girl around her crush, which is fitting." Kurumi teased her. "Yeah I noticed that too. You're normally a lot more cold and aggressive, yet you acted a lot more like Yoshino." Kaguya said as she got closer to Miku with a quisative face. Miku could feel the mounting pressure, and sighed. "Very well, I will tell. But you cannot tell Yugo....I want to." Miku said.

Miku began. "Before I became a Spirit, and of course before.... Everything, I was enthralled by Duell Monsters. The Cute designs of some of the cards just drew me in, so in secret, I learned how to play and even made a deck. I even went as far as disguising myself and entering a tournament."

"Why hide yourself then?" Tohka asked. "Cause what would the public think of me if they know such a thing?" Miku said and everyone sort of figured that would be the answer. "Anyway, it was there I met Yugo."

(Flashback)

"Topologic Bomber Dragon, take out Trickstar Holly Angel!" An Orange machine dragon, lacking legs and had two large green eyes charged and blasted the Trickstar away. "And when Topologic Bomber Dragon takes out an opponent's monster, he deals Burst Damage equal to the slain monster's attack back at you!" Bomber Dragon then powered up and fired another blast, hitting Miku. "And Yugo is the Victor! He shall be advancing to the second round!" The announcer said. Yugo raised his arm in the air and was pumped as everyone was going wild over the duel. Miku simply walked off. Of course Yugo noticed and followed her.

"Hey!" Miku looked back to see the blonde haired boy approach her. "Nice Duel! Those Trickstars are no joke!" He said, a wide smile. "Oh, why thank you." Miku said. "Though, I doubt I would have made it any further."

"You kidding? The amount of Burn damage you were doing was nothing to laugh at. With the right cards, I am sure you could have thrashed me." Yugo said.
"You....you really think so?" Miku asked.
Yugo nodded. "Hell yeah I do! In fact."

Yugo reached into his deck box and pulled out a card. "It ain't a Trickstar, and I was planning on using her as a back up play, but I think you might need her. Think of it as a Duelist instinct." Yugo handed Miku the card. The card was a Link Monster named Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess. On the card art was a white haired cat girl, in hand a bow on top of a green bear. Miku looked at the card for a moment, before looking at Yugo. "Are you...sure?" She asked him.
