Chpt 5: Rage of Red
The rest of Sunday and the next day was rather calm. No Spirit activity had been picked up. Whether that was good or bad is yet to be decided, but some calm is nice. Yugo was of course more happy as he spent nearly every waking moment thinking about his date with Origami. Even in school Yugo found himself looking at the girl, who would simply pretend to pay him no mind but enjoyed the feeling of his eyes on her.
The bell rang and Yugo was beginning to leave with Shido and Tohka. They had made plans for Yugo to come over. "Hey Origami, you coming too?" Yugo asked and Origami shook head. "I am afraid not. I have a few things to take care of." Origami said. Yugo just smiled at her. "Alright then. See ya tomorrow." Yugo said waving to her as Origami waved back, suppressing the blush on her face of seeing the young man catch up to his friends.
It was that very youthful and charismatic expression that brought Origami towards him.
....
Yugo, Shido, and Tohka walked down the sidewalk, Tohka and Shido talking about dinner ideas while Yugo just listened in. They stopped at a stop light and Yugo looked about, before something felt....off. Yugo looked around and then saw her. A girl on a motorcycle. Her color theme was red and black, her eyes blazing crimson and wore a black coat with what looked like a red under shirt. Yugo could tell she was a duel Spirit. Beyond that though, her Motorcycle looked like a Duel Runner, almost seeming to look like a hybrid of Yusei's and Jack's Duel runner.
Shido and Tohka noticed Yugo's silence and when they looked at him, followed his gaze to the girl. She looked at them finally and her gaze narrowed on Yugo. "Yugo, is she?" Shido began and he nodded. "Yup." Yugo said. The light changed and the girl drove by, looking at Yugo until she was gone. "Come on, guess we'll be meeting her soon enough." Yugo said and began walking with them again.
....
Yugo sat at the table with everyone, least planning on getting a meal before he goes to find the rider. Yugo of course pushes back telling them about it, he ain't one to ruin a good mood. Of course no one's but Yugo's, Miku sat right next to the Duelist and was a lot more friendlier than their first meeting, if only because the first one shook Miku. Though she was happy Yugo was reacting well to her now talking with him more.
Shido watched the pair from the kitchen along with Kotori who was smiling. "Well, seems like Yugo took some work off your hands." Kotori commented. "Now if he can only remember her." "I'm sure Miku will tell him.... Yugo isn't the most observant person sometimes." Shido said.
"Hopefully. Also the girl you told me about, we have been tracking her." Kotori said.
"You have? What has she been doing?"
"She's just been riding around. I can't tell if she is either just looking for a Duel...."
"Or waiting for Yugo."
"Likely she is. Which means she has a personal stake in this. Shouldn't be surprising, he has beaten two of them already and likely would be gathering attention."
"So then he's gonna be targeted?"
"More than likely."Both siblings looked back at Yugo, who was now blushing and Miku was giggling at it. Both just smiled, seeing the rather cute interaction.
....
After dinner, Yugo broke the news to everyone about the Duel Spirit. Understandably everyone was a bit worried, Miku the most about it since last time Yugo got hurt, not horribly, but still. "You think she's gonna be tough?" Kaguya asked.
"Nah, if I am right this will be a Turbo Duel, something I happen to excellent at." Yugo said.
"What's a Turbo Duel?" Yoshino asked.
"It's why I have a D-Wheel. Speed Duels are always played on a D-Wheel, and the format changes. While normally there would be two extra monster zones, those don't exist. Instead players can special summon from the extra deck freely at the cost of no Links. Fusion, Syncrho, Xyz, and Pendulum are the name of the game here. It's why my Turbo Duel Deck is full of Synchros. Anyway, the second thing is while Speed World is still the Field Spell, Speed Counters are no longer a thing, so now any spell and trap can be played. It has changed since the days of Yusei and Jack."
