"Wow, Cordelia Hadley! I read you received a 12, how'd you do that?" Caesar Flickerman asks her and she gives him a smile. "I have my ways," she says with a wink towards the crowd, making them go crazy. "I love it!" Caesar yells in the microphone and then he gives her a serious face. "How are you feeling? Being away from home and all," he says and she shrugs. "I'm fine, can't say the same for my family but I'm good, I know I'll go back to see it after the games," she says and Caesar smirks.
"See, that confidence, I love that, but tell me, Cordelia, do you have someone special at home?" He asks and the audience leaned in to hear her response. "No, not at home at least," she says and she leans back with a smirk. "Ooo, tell us, who has Cordelia Hadley's heart?" He asks her and she looks to her lap. "Well, you have to wait," she teases the people of The Capital. "I love it! But Cordelia, tomorrow is the games, if you don't come back alive what do you have to say to your loved ones?"
Cordelia looks straight at the camera, "Mama, Papa, I love you both so much and If I don't come back then please give all of your love to Cato. And Cato, you are my little brother, I will always protect you and if I don't come back, just know I went down with a fight," she sends the message and the audience clapped. "What about the one who has your heart?" Caesar asks and Cordelia mentally sighs. "My love, though we have our rough patches, I will always love you, and if I don't come back just know the last thing I will think of is your lips on mine, you are mine and I am yours forever," she says and the people awwed.
"That was touching! I'm sure the people will certainly want to see you again," Caesar tells the people cheered. "Cordelia Hadley everyone!"
"You did amazing," Marsha tells the girl and Cordelia smiles. "Could have done better," she says and Brutus nods. "I expected you to act more bitchy but you did really good, you instantly got sponsors," he tells her and she sighs before looking at Xavi's interview. "I know I'm going to win," Xavi says and many women clap for him. "Now, now Xavi, tell us about your district partner, Cordelia Hadley, she's quite the beauty, am I right?" He tells the crowd and they cheer while clapping.
"Cordelia is pretty, but she is weak, you should see Jolie-Anne. She was amazing during training," Xavi said, making Cordelia roll her eyes. "I bet, now tell us, do you really think you can win the 65th hunger games?" Caesar asks and Xavi looks towards the crowd, "I guess we'll find out."
"Well aren't you full of shit," Cordelia tells Xavi and he shrugs. "Did what I had to do," he says before sitting down and watching the female tribute for District 3 go up.
"Do they honestly believe their stories? 'My father was murdered' oh please, give me a break," she sneers as the interview for Jolie-Anne had just passed. "Oh, like 'the last thing I will think of is your lips on mine' shut up Cordelia," Xavi says, making her roll her eyes.
"Up next, our second favorite tribute, Finnick Odair!" Caesar yells while dragging out Finnick's last name. Finnick Odair came out with a smile, making every Capital woman go crazy. "Mr.Odair, Mr.Odair, you are everyone's talk, let me ask you something for the ladies. Is there someone waiting for you at home?" Caesar asks the teen who looks surprisingly confident. "No, I don't but someone has already stolen my heart here," Finnick says and Cordelia's breath hitched. 'Don't you dare Finnick Odair.'
"Tell us! We'll keep it secret," Caesar jokes and Finnick laughs. "Well if you insist, Cordelia Hadley has stolen my heart with just one look," he said and Cordelia grabbed the pink in her hair and she threw at the T.V. out of anger. "Fuck you!" She yells and Brutus tries to clam her down. "My Snow! Starcrossed lovers, we loved a good romance don't we folks?" Caesar asks the audience and they clapped and awwed and cheered- it disgusted her. "Well Finnick I hope everything goes well for you two," he says before they both stood up. "Finnick Odair everyone!"
Finnick Odair walked backstage and is instantly shoved against the wall by Cordelia. "What the fuck is wrong with you Finnick?" Cordelia asks him and Brutus pulls her away from the boy. "Marsha, I expected manners from her!" Finnick's escort tells Cordelia's escort. "You should have conversated with us before he said that to the entire Capital!" Marsha tells the woman angrily.
"Go to your room 'Delia, cool off," Brutus says and she continues to glare at Finnick before going to the lift.
Cordelia enters her room and slams the door out of anger. She places a hand on her heart as her eyes began to water, she cared for him but they were in a game, you can't fall in love while playing the game. "Cordelia?" The girl hears Essie say and Cordelia falls to the floor. "Go away," she says and Essie tries to open the door. "Cordelia, he wasn't lying, I've seen that look millions of times, he isn't-"
"I said go away! He humiliated me!" Cordelia yells and she hears the person sigh before finally leaving. Cordelia let her dress fall to the floor before going inside the shower. She lets the hot water engulf her body as she shakes from the thoughts inside her head. She is only a teenager but she still has to fight- to kill to live, going against him will be a difficulty.
After changing and drying her hair Cordelia walks inside to her to see Finnick sitting on her bed. "What are you doing here?" She whispers and he stands up. "Y-you didn't meet me on the roof," he says and she closes her eyes. "Didn't want to see you," she said and he walked in front of her. "Please look at me," he whispers and she looks at him in pain, her back pressed against her wall and he places a hand on her cheek. "I love you," he says and Cordelia felt weak.
"We can survive together, I promise," he says and she cries. "I love you, but Snow won't allow it," she says and he presses his lips on hers. Her heart stops as she felt shivers go down her spine at the touch of his lips. He wraps his arms around her waist as he melted into her. He removes his lips and he slightly smiles. "We will find a way," he whispers and she kisses him again only this time they did more than just that.
