|5 YEARS|

IT HAS 5 YEARS SINCE CORDELIA HAD LAST SEEN FINNICK. It had been 3 years since she was brought into prostitution by her grandfather. Though people thought she was a flirtatious person, she was known as the Capitol's Siren, the Capitol's Princess.

This year she had off, she was mentoring Alicia Fair and Greggory Tenure, tributes for the 70th annual Hunger Games. She had purposely ignored going to the victor's party, afraid that she'd bump into the golden boy, Finnick Odair.

It was the third day of the start of the 70th Hunger games and the 21-year-old was already bored. "Brutus, does the academy even work? Our tributes are shit," she says as she watched 18-year-old Alica Fair being stabbed to death.

"Not all of them are as savage as you," Brutus mutters while angrily looking at the hologram television. "I need a drink," she mutters before putting on her sweater and walking downstairs to the bar.

"Whiskey, neat," she tells the bartender and he nods. "Stressed?" She hears someone tell her and she turns to look at Haymitch Abernathy, her good friend. "You have no idea," she says as she downs her drink. "Another," she says and Haymitch laughs.

"My tributes are dead already," he slurs and she gives him a look. "Then why are you still here?" She asks him and he drinks his liquor. "They have the best alcohol," Haymitch says and she hums before taking a sip of her whiskey. "See you later," she tells him, even though she knew he would leave before she could say goodbye.

She walked to the roof of the building, she opened the door and she noticed another person sitting on the stone bench. "Sorry, I didn't think anyone would be up here," she says and the boy looked at her. "Finnick," she says and he stands up with a shocked face. "Cordelia...hey!" He exclaims and she gives him a small smile before standing next to him.

"How have you been?" She asks him and he slightly smiles at her. "Everything is...fine," he says and she nods. "How have you been?" He asks her and she shrugs. "I could do better," she said and he looks at how much she has changed.

"Couldn't sleep?" The 19-year-old asks her and she shakes her head. "My tributes are going to die and I can't help but feel guilty," she says, ever since she had her own children she couldn't help but feel protective over small children who have to fight for their lives. "I understand, one of mine is already dead, he was only 13," he says and she tensed up, she felt multiple stares on her, he was watching her.

"Well, I should keep watching, it was nice talking to you again," she says and he caught her hand. Shivers went up both of their spines and they looked at each other just like they looked at each other in the arena. "I- nevermind, goodnight," he says and she looks down as she let's go of his hand. "Goodnight," she whispers and she left downstairs.

The arena had flooded, the only survivor was Annie Cresta, tribute of District 4. "Swimming, she won by swimming!" Brutus yells and Cordelia groans. He's right, she was the weakest one and all it took was for the arena to flood to win.

"Well, that is just disappointing," Brutus says and he crosses his arms. Annie's cleaning and healing went quick and in one hour her interview would start. After the interview, all the mentors would return home and after talking to Finnick he needed to know about his two kids. He needed to know everything.

Cordelia sat beside Brutus in the audience of the interview that was just starting. Finnick Odair and Annie Cresta were sat next to each other, holding hands, with stupid smiles on their faces.

"Ms.Cresta that was magnificent swimming we saw, Finnick, are proud of your victor?" Caesar asks him and Finnick smiles. "I'm more than proud, I'm in love with her," he says and Annie blushes. "In love? Did you hear that!" Caesar exclaims and the crowd clap but there were some boos.

"Does this mean you have moved on from our darling Cordelia Hadley?" He asks and Finnick's smiles faltered but he picks up back up. "I moved on a long time ago, Annie... has helped me before the games had started and she healed me," Finnick says and cameras were shot at Cordelia.

"There's our flower, Cordelia, what do you think about this?" Caesar asks and she smiles fakely as she was handed a microphone. "It's great news, he deserves the happy and if a mentally broken ginger makes him smile then that's good for me," she sneers, showing her District 2 nature.

"Yikes, thank you for your honesty, back to Annie Cresta," Caesar exclaims, the cameras were taken off of her and everyone's focus was on the new couple. Finnick looked at the woman he once cared about. She shook her head and she left, a part of him wanted to chase after her but another wanted to stay with Annie. He loved his destroyer but he wanted his healer.

"You should know how to make everything dramatic," Brutus says and she rolls her eyes. "Let's go home," she says and he shook his head before following her to their train.

14-year-old Cato crosses his arms as he shook his head at his sister. "Did you go to drama school? 'Cause you act as if you did," he roasts and Cordelia rolls her eyes. "I asked for a glass of water, not your attitude," she says and he groans before standing up.

Caspian and Cassia were sitting down drawing and Cordelia's parents were out for dinner. "Are you planning another birthday party? Their birthday isn't even till the end of the year," Cato says and before she could reply a knock was heard.

"Take them upstairs, you know where to hide," she whispers and Cato instantly listened to his sister, taking his niece and nephew upstairs. Cordelia opens the door and it revealed President Snow.

"That was quite a show you put on," he says as he invited himself inside. "I'm sorry, I won't do anything like that again," she whispers as she closes the door. "After I kill your father, I know you won't," he says and her eyes widen.

A loud scream was heard outside and she rushed out there. "What the fuck!" Esther yells as a peacekeeper has roughly thrown her towards Cordelia. James Brian Hadley was laying face against the ground, Cordelia's heart broke as both women were thrown back inside. "Father," Esther sneers as she puts Cordelia behind her. "Hello daughter," he says with an unfamiliar amount of softness.

"Why did you kill him? After all these years, why now?" Esther asks while angry tears fill her eyes. "Calm down, daughter, he was a pest, a poison for you," Snow says and she screams at him. Wishing that her fist can hit his face, but her daughter is holding her back.

"Where are my grandchildren?" She asks and Cordelia grabs her mother's hand. "They are safe from him," she says and Esther glares at her father. "Why hurt me now? You took my daughter's first love and now you took mine," she snees and Snow gave Cordelia a look. "You told her," he states and she shook her head. "I visited the Capitol a while ago, your receptionist was a bitch to crack but she told me, I read the documents, how could you?" Esther spits out and Snow slightly smiles.

"You always had a way to get what you want," he tells his weakness, President Snow only had two weaknesses, his oldest daughter and his youngest granddaughter, the daughter of his only son.

"And what I want is for you to die, get out before I actually make that happen!" Esther yells and he places a white rose on the counter. "Goodnight," he says before leaving, Esther falls to the floor and Cordelia hugs her mother. "Everything will get better mother, I promise," she whispers, little did she know...nothing will ever be the same.
