Chapter 12

Yunlan fell asleep so late that he had trouble waking up in the morning. He didn't have time to go to the cafè so he went straight to work.

There wasn't much to do this morning, so he opened the game and saw that WeiLin was online. He saw what part of the world map she was in and messaged her.

"U doing the giant golem? Need help?"

Shen Wei had been thinking about him no stop, worried when he didn't meet him for their morning coffee. After his first lesson he had thought of relaxing a bit playing videogames before his next one. He hadn't expected to find him online at this hour, but he was glad.

He quickly accepted LanLan's help and they battled the golem together. It was a difficult fight and it took them a few minutes, but it was fun to play together, the way they understood each other's moves and helped each other in the right way was captivating.

Once it was over, Wei thanked him and started to chat, asking how she was and how things were going on for her.

When Yunlan  wrote "I’m sorry" Wei felt panicking before he could think and tell himself that Yunlan was talking to WeiLin, not to him, so it couldn't mean what he feared.

It wasn't a I'm-sorry-but-I-don't-want to-see-you-anymore, so he took a deep breath and asked for explanations.

"What about?"

"I didn't keep my promise."

Promise? What promise? But before he could ask, Yunlan's next message arrived.

"We had sex." Suddenly Wei remembered their last conversation. He had forced that promise out of him then he had basically jumped him, and now Yunlan was apologising...

Wei's heart ached, he told himself that he should tell him everything, what he was doing wasn't right, but he was scared. A one-time thing wasn't enough for him, he wanted Yunlan in his home, to talk to him every day and make love to him every night.

He wanted a serious relationship, a future together, and the idea that Yunlan might not want that was scary as hell.

A good basis for any healthy relationship was honesty, he should definitely tell him everything, but then he read, "I don't know what to do now."

"Why? What’s wrong?" Wei couldn't tell him now, he wanted to know what was in Yunlan's mind.

Trying to sort out his feelings between his professor and WeiLin, Yunlan wrote: "Nothing really but...would u like to meet me?"

Wei was shocked, what was going on?

"Of course," he wrote. "But I have to go on a work trip so I won't be online for a few days. When I come back we'll talk about when and where."

Wei then thought it sounded too cold and added, "I can't wait to meet you."

He really had to find a way to tell him everything before then.

Wei didn't see Yunlan this morning either. He had an early lesson but he could only think of him, so he gave his students something to read, took out his phone and wrote him a message.

"I’d like to see you again, are you free today?"

He got no answer.

He couldn't wait another minute, he had to explain everything to him but Wei knew that once they were face to face he wouldn’t be able to find the right words, so he sat at his desk and started writing.

He was so anxious he couldn’t wait for Yunlan’s lunch break before talking to him; he was afraid he was losing him, he had to do something, so as soon as his lesson ended, he called for a taxi and went to see him.
