Amelia's P.O.V
Christmas!!!!!!!!! This is the first Christmas I have ever celebrated in my life, so I'm quite excited. So excited Harry even asked if I was high... I didn't think I was that bad, maybe it's because I put extra sugar on my cereal. Everyone is exchanging gifts this evening, before we all go to bed. Ron finally figured out that the prank I pulled on him wasn't real, he'll never forgive me. And I'll hold it against him for the rest of his life, but poor old Lavender still hasn't caught on just yet. Draco and I still keep in touch via owl, but I wish I could see him. But I know I can't until tern resumes.
I laid down on my bed in the room Hermione and I shared (a.k.a Charlie's old room) when Hedwig swooped through my open window, sending a small breeze at me. I fed her some bread and she perched on my window ledge, hooting happily. I opened the message I retrieved from her leg and scanned Draco's handwriting that sprawled the surface of the parchment.
Amelia,
I'm sorry this isn't long, but there's an emergency. Deatheaters are planning to fly to the Burrow on Christmas day to capture you and Harry. They plan on going at nightfall, and I hope you recieve this letter before then, if not, just be prepared. Bellatrix Lestrange and Fenrir Greyback are coming, as they're Voldemort's greatest followers, but they are also very sadistic, so be very careful. They'll stop at nothing to get you. Don't stay in the house, get everyone to leave as soon as you read this.
Love Draco
My eyes widened as I threw the note onto the bed, bounding from my room downstairs where the adults were. I dashed into the kitchen and all eyes were on me.
"We need to get out of here! Deatheaters are coming!" I exclaimed and everyone looked at me in panic.
"How-how do you know?" Stuttered Mrs Weasley, who had stood from her seat.
"I got a letter from Draco, he said they're on their way now, to capture Harry and I." I explained in a rush.
"We need to get everyone out before they get here." Tonks said as all the adults ran from the room.
"Too late." I breathed as a ring of fire burst around the house, resembling serpents of some kind, that thrashed around on the spot, preventing anyone from getting further than twenty meters away from the Burrow. By now all of us were crouded around the doorway, staring at the woman with the frizzy black hair that stuck up in all places smiled maliciously at us and ran into the long grass the surrounded us. Harry barged past all of us as we made an attempt to stop the fire, jumping through the narrow gap in the flames before he sprinted after the woman. All the Weasley's had exited the house and were crouded in the gap between the house and the fire, panicked about what was going on. I stuck close to Hermione as we sprayed jets of water at the flickering, orange flames which tried to lick our bare skin. I faintly heard the mad woman cackle as she taunted Harry who was running after her, of course I tried to go after him but Hermione restrained me so I couldn't do so.
"I killed Sirius Black! I killed Sirius Black! Are you coming to get me?!" She chanted over and over. Harry had told me about Sirius Black, he had been our Godfather, but he was killed the only months before I came. Bellatrix was only trying to infuriate Harry, and it seemed to be working, so much so that everytime she sang those simple words, Harry sprinted faster. No matter how much we tried to put out the blazing fire it just kept growing and growing, creating a wall of flames that was taller than all of us, we were definately trapped. Then I remembered, didn't Draco say there was going to be someone named Fenrir Greyback here? Not just Bellatrix Lestrange. But he was nowhere in sight. I choked on the clouds of smoke that was emitting from the fire, I couldn't really see anything, the only source of light was that fire, which wasn't much help when your stuck in smoke, unable to see. That was when I felt a rough, clawed hand cover my mouth and drag me backwards, away from the others. My high pitched screams were muffled by his hand as I cried for help while attempting to fight him off me without the use of my wand, but my strength was no match to his.
"Amy!" I heard someone call out for me and Ron jumped out from behind the house, his wand pointed directly at Greyback.
"Stupefy!" Ron shouted and Greyback was blown back, making me tumble to the ground. Ron extended his hand to help me up and I took it, letting him pull me off the ground. I brushed myself off and pulled Ron into a massive hug, endlessly thanking him for saving me. I let go of him and we rushed back to the others, who were still trying to stop the damn fire, but then something happened. The whole Burrow burst into flames that stung my eyes to look at them, but I couldn't bring myself to look away. Everyone stared as our home burned to a crisp, inside and out. I clenched my hands into fists and gritted my teeth as the cackling witch and the werewolf disappeared from sight, obviously angered as they didn't catch us. The flicker of the flames reflected in my glassy green eyes as a wave of heat from the fire hit us, but no-one moved, only Mr Weasley, Ginny and Harry made a move as they returned, gasping at the fire which danced in the moonlight, smoke pouring from the top of it. This was their fault, they weren't meant to do that, they set it alight out of anger, anger that they couldn't capture and kill Harry and I. The feeling in my gut told me this wasn't the end, that there was way more to come, which will be much much worse. And cause damage that no-one can repair, the Burrow can be easily fixed with magic, but the war that's approaching ever so quickly will destroy lives. But all of us will get through this, all of us.
(A/N: Sorry it was so short, I didn't have much time to update.)
