Chapter-31: Change of Curriculum

Next morning great hall was buzzing with activity as students were coming in for breakfast, slowly student tickled into great hall and settled themselves comfortably and staff also started having breakfast but Selene can see mirth and excitement in her Uncles eyes which confused her but she had a hunch about what is going to happen, as breakfast progressed chatter around the hall but when door of the great hall opened with a bang, Dumbledore was quick on his feet with wand at ready but soon he stopped in his tracks looking at the people that arrived.

"Lucius My Boy, I think you are here to meet Draco but what are you Augusta doing, if you don't mind me asking," Albus said with his grandfather persona which made Slytherins snort at his acting and stupidity while Selene and Draco along with their Uncles can see the annoyance on Lucius and Augusta.

"Headmaster, refer me as Lord Malfoy and today I'm here along with Lady Bones and Regent Longbottom as Board of Governors of Hogwarts," Lucius said calmly and he can see cold fury settling in Albus's eyes along with shock which made him internally smirking.

"Oh that is good to hear Lord Malfoy, can I know the reason for your arrival?" Albus asked but he was internally seething and cursing at them for their unnecessary interruptions.

"Well, Headmaster, please do sit at your place and this week's classes will be cancelled," Augusta said and they turned towards student body and Lucius took charge.

"Good morning students, I'm Lord Malfoy, the lady towards my right is Lady Bone and the other Lady is Regent Longbottom and we are major members of Board of Governors of Hogwarts and we are here to inform you all about the changes in staff and Curriculum, that will be put into action by next week," Lucius said and he can see the shocked looks on faces of the students while he can also sense the silent glares that were sent their way by Albus but he ignored it and continued.

"First, I will tell you that Remus Lupin will be head of House of Gryffindor while Professor Severus Snape, Professor Promana Sprout and Professor Filius Flitwick will continue to be head of houses Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, the house points will be awarded fairly and the spell of points on the point counter will be activated which will help us know if points are being taken or given fairly, no more house favours, while detentions will be looked after our new Professor Alexander Williams, who is here to teach you arts both muggle and magical also he will teach you hand to hand combat and punishments will be looked over Head of the houses once before he will be informed," Lucius said and everyone was shocked before he can continue Minerva interrupted.

"Lord Lucius, I have been the head of house Gryffindor for last seventy years, then without informing how can you remove me from the position?" Minerva asked frowning.

"That is because you being Transfiguration Professor, Deputy Headmistress and Head of the house, you are not exercising your responsibilities properly because of which you are neglecting the head of house duties, so to lessen the burden on you this decision is taken by us," Augusta said firmly which made Minerva snap her mouth shut.

"Well, now changes to curriculum I was going to say before I was interrupted are Divination is no more a subject or will be taught at Hogwarts, as it is rarely gifted subject in young witched and wizards, History of magic will be taught by our new Professor here Selena Ross, Defense will be taught by your old professors that is 1-4 will be taught by Remus Lupin and 5-7 will be taught by new professor Ricco White, Charms will be taught by Filius Flitwick from 5-7 and 1-4 will be taught by Professor Rose Cullen, Muggle studies will be taught  by our new professor Luke Knight as he has better knowledge of muggles and it is mandatory class for all the pure-blood and half-blood students who were brought up in wizarding world while muggle-borns cannot attend the class because during that time they will be taking class on wizarding studies which is dived into three History, Wizarding traditions and customs, etiquette and traditions and customs of creatures of the world taught by Professor Burbage, Professor Jessica Hale and Professor Isla Swan, Potions will be taught by Professor Snape to years 5-7, while 1-4 will be taught potions  mistress Ariana Maxwell, Herbology will be taught by Pomona Sprout for 5-7 and 1-4 will be taught by  Charles Ross, Transfiguration will be taught by Minerva Mcgnagall to 5-7 while 1-4 will be taught by Aries Clearwater and Astronomy taught by Professor Sinistra while Runes will be taught by Professor Babbling with assistance of Professor Lilith Maxwell and Arthimacy will be taught by your old professor Vector with assistance of Azalea Whitlock and Care of Magical Creatures will be taught by Charlie Weasley, these are the changes made in curriculum and books will be provided in Florish and Blotts by end of the month till then notes will be given to you in classes by your Professor and staff should hand over their preferred books and lesson plans to Athena Cullen who will be going through them before it is checked by Headmaster," Lucius said and he can see the shock and surprise on everyone's face including the staff and other board members because this plans and changes were only known to him, Marvolo, Selene and Sirius before which was kept as a secret from others

"Do you people have any doubts about this?" Amelia asked going along with Lucius and when they didn't find any protest, Lucius once again started to talk.

"The caretaker of Hogwarts is changed Filch will be not seen at castle anymore, his position will be taken by new caretaker Castor Evans, then every student will retire to their dorms every night at sharp 10:00 and Perfects and head boy and head girl will take care of that and they have no right to award or deduct points and if they find any wrongdoings or fights that will be taken to the notice of Professor Alexander William, then if we anyone found is bullying other students anywhere, they will be given a warning for three times and fourth time, they will be suspended for a time period depending on the severity of the situation but if they do not heed warning then they will be removed from the school, no more second chances," Lucius said seriously and he felt satisfied  seeing the fearful expressions on some of the students.

"Then there is a new rule, every year once students arrives for new year, in the first week they will have full body checkup for precautions on health from Madam Pomfrey and new medi witch Healer Andromeda Tonks, who will assist Madam Pomfrey and don't think to skip this because those records will be directly saved by us in a separate record room where only access will be granted to few people and if they try to hide they will be found by an elf who will drag them hospital wing and lastly that first years not allowed a broomstick is lifted as only a few people will not know how to use them and they will get to know in their first flying class which will be moved to the first week of the school after term starts and Quidditch will be held as usual," Lucius said looking at his goddaughter in eye who gave him a sheepish smile while her friends chuckled looking at her while she glared at him.

"Finally there will be random checking's from our board at random intervals in the year," Augusta said and everyone felt nodding themselves and Lucius turned towards Headmaster.

"Headmaster, we would like to talk to you in your office, if you follow us," Lucius said and Albus nodded his head and followed them while teachers dismissed the students, who ran outside to enjoy their free day of classes.

As Lucius walked towards the office, he can feel the wards on the door which made him frown and he dismantled the wards on the door and made a note to have a talk about this with the headmaster, once everyone settled themselves, Albus looked at them with a twinkle in eyes which made annoyed.

"Now, Albus, never lay wards on your office door, so that you can identify the presence behind them because it isn't polite," Lucius started the greeting which made Albus angry but he just nodded his head.

"Albus, we are sorry we made these changes suddenly but it came to attention to bard from many parents, mainly Pure-Bloods and Half-Bloods who said that the standards of Hogwarts are fallen and he will withdraw the children which we cannot let happen," Augusta said.

"So we were compelled to make these changes after a lot of discussion and yesterday, we couldn't contact you as you were at ICW for a conference," Amelia continued while Lucius smirked internally thinking how much will power it has taken for him to not to laugh outright at this old coot in the great hall looking at his expressions.

"Albus, I hope that you will see that new changes are running smoothly, now we will take our leave, it nice having this meeting with you which turned out to be productive," Lucius said with a cold smile.

"Of course Lord Malfoy, I will see to that and yes it is quite productive," Albus said while internally all he wanted to do was to kill those three then and there itself.

Once Slytherins fell into the common room, Selene along with Draco started to laugh while others just shook their head seeing their craziness.

"Really  Dragon, Uncle Lucius does know how to give a dramatic entrance and it was priceless to see the old coot's face," Selene said.

"Of course Dad knows Rose and you know even Uncle Padfoot and Uncle Marv has same flairs for dramatic gestures," Dragon said smirking.

"Well, the flair for dramatics is embedded in our blood Dragon, you do know that, don't you because you do the same too," Selene said smirking while Draco looked at her with a pout and started to chase her and this was the scene that Lucius, Regulus, Remus and Severus came across when they came to talk with Selene and Draco which made them happy and content to see their children having happy time.
