Oh god that was weird. After three minutes of confusion, the three of us decided to go sit
on the couch and answer each other’s questions.
“So, when you said ‘another shapeshifter’, what did you mean?”
“Okay, long story short, Oam’s a shapeshifter, but a good one. From where we live,
they’re made by destroying a mirror in this one temple. And at some point a second one
attacked us.”
“Was there a reason?”
“I think because Oam’s technically a ‘betrayer’ of the temple.” I look over at Oam, who’s
holding onto my arm tightly. I place my hand on his, smiling at him. His grip loosens, but he still
holds on. At least he’s calmed down.
“Wait, what does your world look like?”
“It’s not that different. The only difference is our species.”
“Hmm, what’s your Badgerclops like?” I freeze at the question.
“He’s… amazing.” I slightly blush, smiling to myself. “He’s so kind and he helps me with
so many things. He’s just lovely.” I look down at my feet as I blush,
“...And they’re dating.”
“Oam!” Oh my god, one day I’m gonna kill him. Oam laughs. I smile to myself. “... I-” My
smile falls. “I miss him. He must be so worried.” Oam grabs my hand, leaning on my shoulder.
“I… I miss them all. I-I just want to be back with them.” I bring my hand up to my face, realizing
the tears on them. “I’m sorry. I need to stop crying I-” Oam quickly pulled my hands down, then
pulled me into a hug.
“What did I tell you earlier?”
“... It’s okay to cry… But I-”
“No.” Oam placed his hands on my shoulder. “Please, you’re a brother to me, I don’t
want you holding back your emotions.”
‘... Why do you care about me?’
“... Because I love you. Please don’t think I don’t care.”
“I… did I say that out loud?” Oh god, why am I such a wreck? I can believe this. “I-”
Suddenly the winged me hugged me. I completely forgot he was there.
“I… I know we barely know each other… but if you ever need anything, come here. I’ll
help anyway I can.” I start to cry again. I guess I’m just not used to this. Quickly wiping my eyes,
I smile to myself.
“I-I’ll try.”
