Mao Mao’s POV:
Oh god, oh god, oh god, shit shit shit! Why did I have to end up here?! After I had been
thrown into the other portal, I ran into a crazy version of me. AND WHAT THE HELL
HAPPENED TO HIS ARM?! Why did this have to happen?! I hide in an alley while this…
MANIAC tries to kill me. HOW THE FUCK IS HE A VERSION OF ME?! This version of me had
already gotten a hit on me, the fur one my arm having a slight red tint. I looked out the alley to
check if he was near, but then heard a gasp from behind me. Oh my god, it’s Blue and some
sweetiepies, one of them he was holding. Blue was wearing a light grey cloak, the ends for
some reason not tied together.
“Please don’t hurt us. We didn’t do anything wrong.” I don’t even know what to think. My
therapist is scared of me. He has a stern face but I know he’s hiding the fact that he’s terrified.
“I’m not the crazy guy that’s been chasing me. I know I look like him but that’s not me.”
“How do we know if this isn’t a trick? The only difference between you two is that you still
have your arm.”
“Ugh, I hate that stupid temple that sent me here. Why did I get sent to a world with me
as a maniac?” I turn to look at Blue so I can try to explain, but his expression is softer now.
“Temple? Do you mean the Mirror Temple?”
“Yes. The mirrors actually link up to-”
“Alternate timelines, I know. I, at least in this timeline, studied the temple for a bit. The
temple is the only place that our version of you won’t go to. No one knows why, but we’re not
going to question a miracle.” Blue grabbed me by the hand. “I’ll take you there with us. If I don’t
make it, just run.” Wait what?!
“You really think that you might die? I’m pretty sure the temple is close by.”
“Yes, the temple is close, but our Mao Mao is quick. No matter how much distance you
gain, you’re in the red until you reach the temple.” Blue ran across the street with me and the
sweetiepies, then hid behind a house.
“Do you know what happened? What made him go crazy?” Blue sighed.
“No, no one knows what caused this, but whatever did, Badgerclops plans on dealing
with it. He doesn’t want something like this to happen again.”
“... Badgerclops? He’s okay?” I try to whisper as our group runs past the town center.
“Physically… kinda. The scar on his face will probably never fade. Mentally, hell no. I
don’t think he’ll ever have a full 8 hours of sleep ever again. He constantly is standing guard at
the temple to make sure no one gets hurt. He doesn’t want to lose anyone, and he’ll never
forgive himself for what happened to Adorabat.” … No. No no no, he has to be lying.
“Don’t tell me she’s-”
“Dead. She’s dead.” Blue sighed. “You should put on this cloak.” Blue passed me the
cloak he was wearing. “ Badgerclops wouldn’t let you in if he saw your face. Now, what do you
want to go by? You can’t call yourself Mao Mao.” I quickly put on the cloak as I try to think of a
name.
“... San.” Blue quickly pulls me onto the woods, stopping in front of the stone temple.
“Welcome to our sauntuary, San.”(595 words)
