Finding A Soulmate( HoO characters)

Annabeth

 Unlike others, Annabeth Case was ready for school to start. With her dad away on a business trip, it only left her stepmom and her two sons at the house. If the three weren't watching movies on the couch, they were arguing or out of the house.

Annabeth couldn't wait to get away from it all.

So, when her alarm clock woke her up late, she practically screamed out loud. She had a plan to get up super early and get out of the house before her brothers and stepmom. But, unfortunately, there was fifteen minutes to get out of the house, so....

Annabeth quickly got dressed, brushed her teeth,combed her hair, and went downstairs to eat breakfast, but only to find her best friend, Piper, in her livingoom eating toast.

"Finally! Let's hurry up and hopefully not be late for school!" Piper said, walking towards the door.

Annabeth stood there for  a millisecond before following Piper.

"Wait, why are you driving me?" Annabeth asked.

"Uhm, hello? I'm your bestfriend! Can I not drive you when I want to?" Piper asked.

Annabeth rolled her eyes. "What do you want to gossip about, Piper?" She asked.

Piper gasped, exclaiming," How dare you accuse me of only wanting to drive you for gossiping reasons!"

Annabeth glared at her until Piper hung her head and said, " Darnit. You may be blonde, but there is no way you are dumb."

" That's right, Pipes. Now start the ignition, and let's head out!" Annabeth said cheerfully." Oh, and, what was the gossip about?"

Pipers eyes glinted with excitment as she said, "I finally found out why Mrs.Browne got expelled. It turns out that she had-"

"Pipes, look out!" Annabeth cried out.

The brakes squealed as Piper tried not to hit the boy on the bike that was passing by... Or Are there two boys on one bike?

"Oh my gosh." Piper said, already out of the car, checking on the boys." Are you hurt? Can you walk?"

Annabeth closed her door and went to help the boys up. "Are you okay?"One of the boys was a blonde with glasses and the other was a dark haired boy with green eyes.

"We're fine. Now we really need to get to school quick, Percy. The bell rings in ten minutes and it takes about fifteen minutes on a bike from here." Said the boy with blonde hair.

"Wait. Jason?" Piper asked. 

"Yes? " said the boy, looking up."Wait, how do you know my name?"

"Oh! I'm Piper, I know you because Thalia, your sister, always had me over at her house!" Piper said. Annabeth had never seen her so nervous. Perhaps it was because of almost hitting them, or was it because of Jason...

Annabeth then broke the akward silence that followed by asking them if they needed a ride.  The boys agreed to go and they quickly went into the car. Jason  and Piper were in the front, Annabeth and the dark haired boy in the back.

"I have a question." Annabeth stated. Piper giggled, murmuring something that sounded a lot like of course you do. Annabeth ignored her and asked anyhow. " why were you two on the same bike at the same time? That was an accident waiting to happen."

"Well," said the boy with green eyes," we had a bet with some of Jason's friends, and we took it. I'm Percy, by the way."

"Annabeth." They shook hands.

"What were you betting on?" Annabeth asked questionly.

" Well, my mom bakes the best cookies, and everyone loves them, so if I lost the bet, I would have to give them all of my cookies." Percy replied.

Annabeth giggled, saying, "You must really like those cookies. What makes them so special?"

"Well, first of all, my mom is the best chef ever, and secondly, you haven't had them before?" Percy asked. " They were there for the bakes sale for the swim team and everyone had them."

"Nope. I usually don't go to sports games or anything like that." Annabeth replied.

" Well then, I'll bring you a cookie tomorrow."

"What makes you so sure you will see me tomorrow?" Annabeth asked.

"Fate."

"Pipes, what's got you so nervous?" Annabeth asked as Percy and Jason separated from the girls to go to English. The girls were heading to honors English right then.

"Nothing." She replied simply, but Annabeth knew something was up. It was a sixth sense to Annabeth to know what emotional state people were in.

The girls had just gotten inside when the bell rang.

" Get into your seats, girls, and wait until after I take attendance to talk." Their teacher said. 

"We will talk about it later." Piper mouthed to Annabeth and Annabeth rolled her eyes. It was Pipers way of saying we won't talk about it now or ever.

Annabeth wondered what would bug her so much to not want to talk about it with her. It must've been something important.
