Finding A Soulmate( HoO characters)

Hazel

It was 3:30, after-school, and Hazel was heading to her house. Photography class was cancelled, due to the rain, and so were all the other classes. She was going to drive home with her brother, Nico, (mainly because Hazel failed her driving test about five times)but Nico had other things to do after school-something Nico obviously didn't want to talk about.

Hazel was walking across the football field when when got hit in the head with a football. And that was when the chaos happened.

Hazel woke up in the school hospital with a boy by her bed. But not just any boy- Frank Zhang. The football star. To be frank, (ha ha) Hazel never really cared much for athletes. They were most likely  selfish, dumb, and rude on the inside. 

So, when Hazel saw Frank waiting for her to wake up from the infirmary, she was suspicious.

"What are you doing here?"Hazel asked. She slowly tried to get up from the patient seat, but Frank held her down.

"You shouldn't be getting up now. You have a concussion and your nausea could end up with vomiting. And  I should know, I've had lots before." Frank said, smiling.

Instead of giggling, like Frank was used to, Hazel only narrowed her eyes. "Why are you here?" Hazel looked around the room. "Why am I in the infirmary?"

"You have a concussion...and I might've caused it." Frank said, not meeting Hazel's eyes." I didn't want you to be alone when you woke up- trust me it's happened to me before."

"Mh-hm," Hazel said, not convinced. "Why are you really here?"

Just then, Leo Valdez, the scrawny elfish-looking boy walked in to the infirmary. "It's because Frank Zhang in looovvveee with you!" Leo smirked and took a seat next to Hazel's bed. "Ah, what a perfect love story! An anti-social artist and the star football player! Of course, it can't be the best love story, " Leo became misty-eyed. "Me and my special someone already have it."

Frank blushed and looked at his feet again, and Hazel said, "Um, no. There's no way."

Frank looked up and asked, his eyebrow furrowing, "No to what?"

"Ohhh, it's a one-sided love story! Things just got interesting! Maybe I should get some popcorn-"Leo said, getting cut off.

"Leo, what are you even in here for?" Frank sighed.

"Uhm, Zhang? Have you not seen the weather? It's raining outside-not to mention the lightning! The principle said that everyone who had after school activities and didn't go home early have to stay at school until the storm runs out." Leo smirked. "I bet you will love spending more time with Hazel here."

"Okay, I'm sorry, Hazel, for having you be in the middle of this." Frank said." And I'm sorry Leo was born like this."

"You mean born super hot and awesome?" Leo asked, smirking.

"I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean that." Hazel said, interfering with the boy's bickering. " He probably meant your annoying aura. Also, it is fine because I'm leaving right now."

Just then, as if on cue, the principle's voice rang trough the announcement's loudspeakers. "Hello students, This is Principle Browne. As you can see, there has been some weather issues today and so we want everyone to stay inside to avoid harm. This storm is the greatest one we have seen for years to come- as some of our forecasters have said. So, thank you. And please go back to your usual activities."

"See? It's a sign! Frazel will become a cannon, I tell you!" Leo exclaimed.

"Sure. Whatever Frazel is, I'm going to leave either way." Hazel said, getting up and dusting herself off.

"Hazel- you have to remember you have a concussion. You might not be thinking straight with all the nausea, and- " Hazel puked in a trash bag, and Frank pointed to her vomit."that."

""Ugh, fine," Hazel said, whipping her mouth with her hand."But only because I forgot a jacket today."

"Uh-huh, su-re." Leo said- not taking no for an answer. "Just think about it. About a full hour of Frank and Hazel together." Leo smiled."What could possibly go wrong?"

Oh, but Leo was wrong. Lots of things could go wrong. Lots.
