— Hajime's P.O.V:

I just sat there, picking at my food and occasionally taking a few bites.

I really wish Mom was back, then we wouldn't be here in America, then Dad would have an organized working schedule, then she could help me a lot more than anyone else could.

But of course that bitch and her fucking sister had to kill her.

And without realization, I slammed my fists on the table and I was almost crying.

"Hajime...?" Chiaki patted my back. "You okay?"

I snapped back into reality then. "O-oh yeah, I was making a scene wasn't I?" I laughed it off.

"You were on the verge of tears," Chiaki frowned.

"Everything okay, Hajime?" Aoi asked, genuinely concerned.

I nodded. "You're thinking about your mother, aren't you?" Aoi frowned, her question almost pushed me to crying.

"Cheer up, Hajime," Aoi smiled at me. "Kyoko was a great person, believe me. She was too great and too kind. Hell, she stopped a war from outbreaking before you and Chiaki were even born."

I only looked down, still having that frown on my face.

"She wouldn't want you to be crying right now, she's want you to keep going and live on, you've got the same determination that she had, Hajime. Use it." Aoi continued to smile at me, holding out her fist to give me a fist bump.

I smiled, and gave her that fist bump. "You're right, she would." Aoi then turned her fist toward Chiaki, and Chiaki bumped it.

"Now then, let's finish up eating and we can go do some fun stuff!" Aoi started. "Any ideas on where to go?"

"Can we go to the arcade?" Chiaki asked, sleepily. "A new game came out there and I wanna play it, and Hajime really likes Dance Dance Revolution too."

I laughed, and lightly punched Chiaki's shoulder. "Geez, way to expose me, Nanami."

Nanami was the name of one of Chiaki's favorite video game characters, she loved Nanami so much that she would marry them. So, I called her Nanami sometimes.

Chiaki smiled. "Whatever, you know you like DDR."

"So the arcade it is," Aoi giggled a little bit.

"Geez, Hinata," One of the workers at the arcade came up behind me. "You're really good at DDR, huh?"

It was Rantaro Amami, he graduated last year and was already in college and paid for it with the money he earned from working at the arcade. We weren't really friends, we just kind of knew each other.

"Yeah, I guess so," I leaned back looking at my score.

"People in school know that about you?" Rantaro asked.

"I'd prefer not to tell anyone, it's kind of embarrassing if you tell people you play DDR nowadays," I laughed.

Rantaro chuckled with me. "Yeah, I guess it is. But you're really good at it. Probably better than my girlfriend."

"You've got a girlfriend?" I asked, Rantaro nodded.

"Her name is Kaede, Kaede Akamatsu. I met her a few months ago. She's really good at the game as well. Maybe you two should play together sometime, have a face off." He answered.

"Sounds cool," I smiled, and Rantaro gave me a high five.

"Excellent, wanna organize a date for this quote unquote 'face off'?" He asked, I nodded.

"I'm free anytime," I said.

"Cool, so next weekend alright?" He asked, while texting on his phone. Probably texting Kaede.

"Yeah, sounds good," I smiled. Rantaro put away his phone and smiled back.

"Kaede says she can do it as well, so I guess next Saturday there's gonna be a Dance Dance Revolution face off here, pretty epic." Rantaro laughed.

"And the winner gets...?" I joked.

"Winner gets $50, why not?" Rantaro took my joke seriously.

"Woah! I was joking but I'm always in for $50!" I almost yelled.

"That is, if you can win." Rantaro showed me $50, proving that he had it and was willing to give it to the winner. "Here I'll play with you, don't tell my coworkers or my boss or I'll get killed."

"Will do," I smiled. "You pick the song."

◾️

We were now driving home, it was around 9 P.M. by now. We sure stayed at the arcade for awhile, I wonder what Aoi did while we were there.

"You guys have fun?" Aoi asked.

"Yeah! The new game was amazing!" Chiaki answered, happily. "What about you Hajime?"

"Rantaro, one of the guys who works there, set up a DDR face off for $50. I'll be going up against his girlfriend, Kaede." I laughed.

"And when is this?" Aoi asked.

"Next Saturday," I answered. Aoi just smiled.

"I'll be out of the country by then, but you have a good time, Hajime. Win it!" She pulled into the driveway and unlocked the car doors. "I'll see you guys another time, have a good night!"

"Bye, Miss. Asahina, thank you for tonight!" Chiaki waved at her while getting out of the car.

"Yeah, thanks!" I smiled at Aoi and followed behind Chiaki.

"Not a problem!" Aoi smiled and waved back at us until we were out of the car and inside the house.

"You're hitting the shower first, you stink," Chiaki said as soon as we got in the door.

"Nice! I get all the hot water!" I first bumped the air and Chiaki just giggled.

"I'll kick you out when you're in there for too long," She plopped down on the couch and curled up to play on her PSP.

"Yeah yeah, whatever," I went upstairs to my room to grabbed some clean pajamas, which were really just a hoodie and some sweatpants.

I then hit the shower, taking up some of the hot water, but if I took up all of it Chiaki would bang my head into the wall with her PSP, and I didn't wanna risk that.

You know that when you're in the shower, you're gonna have some shower thoughts, well mine was 95% Nagito and 5% Rantaro. I liked Nagito, he seemed like an amazing guy. He wasn't some sicko either, he was actually telling me the truth. He looked the same age as me when I looked at his profile, and he did attend Hopes Peak. My 5% of Rantaro thoughts though was just trying to figure out if we were friends or not.

I then stepped out of the shower, drying off and then chanting into my "pajamas". I then stepped out of the bathroom.

"Your turn, Chiaki," I was halfway down the hallway until I heard,

"Hey Hajime, who's Nagito? He's blowing up your phone."
