DC looked completely different from the way I️ had left it

DC looked completely different from the way I️ had left it. Sure it still had the same look—nothing too drastic had changed in the last year and a half, but the feel was definitely different. I️ guess I️ was too used to the high life of Los Ángeles. I️ had became so succumbed to the lifestyle that I️ frequently had to remind myself that everywhere wasn't like LA.

A lot had changed about me spiritually and emotionally since the last time I️ was in DC. The last time I️ was in DC I️ was graduating from college with a degree in dance, and two job offers fresh out the scene. The hardest decision I️ had to make was choosing between touring with Beyoncé or Usher as they prepared for their world tour. I️ guess that was a blessing for that to be my biggest problem fresh out of school, and I️ guess no one was really that surprised when I️ ended up flying out to Los Ángeles to work alongside Beyoncé.

I️ ended up spending three months in intense practices and trainings—more intense than any of the practices I️ had endured through my eighteen years of dancing. I️ was one of the last people to join the scene, so a lot of the dancers already had the routines down pat. That itself was intimidating to say the least, and I️ think I️ spent more time crying than I️ would like, but by the time the tour actually started in July, I️ would like to think I️ had fit in perfectly fine. That tour itself lasted a solid four months, and right after that was done, I️ found myself wrapped into the whirlwind of the LA dance scene.

Whether it be dancing behind Chris Brown in his Heat video, or playing a love interest in a Trey Songz video, I️ was definitely booked and busy. Not to mention, with my newfound fame, a lot of my time has been spent serving as a brand ambassador for various companies.

Now that I️ think of it, I️ needed a vacation.

But with Adele and Leo's wedding approaching quickly, it was only fair that I️ took a little bit of time out of my schedule to help with the wedding planning.

I️ had the honor of being the Maid of Honor, and though I️ knew the title held a lot of weight, I️ didn't expect it to require so much work. There were so many times where I️ had to choose what hue of purple the flowers should be for the centerpieces, or even just serving as a listening ear as Adele whined, stressed, bitched, and boasted over the entire wedding process. But alas, the day was approaching quickly—in exactly a month—and I️ would be spending a lot of time in DC as they prepared.

Conveniently enough, Leo had gotten traded to the Washington Wizards last year for quite a bit of money. The city had cheered him, some even calling him the Lebron of DC. I️ thought that was blasphemy to Lebron's name (considering he was the GOAT), but after seeing how well Leo carried the Wizards up to the final four, it was easy to see where the title was coming from. Despite the fact that basketball season was still going on, Adele and Leo were determined to have their wedding in the next month, even if that meant planning the wedding on a Wednesday—a day when the Wizards weren't playing.
