Here we are a year later.
"Amber! It's time to get up! You don't wanna miss your first day of 1st grade!" Kara said into her daughter's ear. She didn't flinch.
"Daddy's here!" She said.
"Really? Where?" Amber shot up.
"He's not here till later. Come on he'll pick you up before school." Kara said.
"Momma!" Amber said whinnying.
"It'll be fun. Come on. Out the door."
"Bye." Kara said.
"Hey. Amber!" Finn said.
"Hi. Well, I'll see you next week." Kara said.
"Won't miss it! Say bye to Mommy." Finn said. Amber waved and gave a hug.
"Love you." Kara said as they walked away.
