9:45am - university of Coventry..
We finally arrived 15 minutes early to my accommodation. We were greeted by several people and we ran through all the necessary information that I needed to know and checked in.
I was now handed my keys to my accommodation, luckily I decided to apply for halls earlier than most people because I definitely had a wide selection and I feel as if I'm happy with my choice.
Godiva place
I was situated in flat 6A, which was on the sixth floor. It took quite a while for me and my family to bring all of my things upstairs but we did it eventually.I didn't pick a studio room because rent would've been £203 a week, and who the hell is spending that much money on rent for a small uni accommodation? Not me.
I would usually be extremely nervous, but surprisingly anxiety wasn't yet awake! I was happy about this to be fair, she's not going to get in my way today.
I was the first one here out of my 5 flat mates who I was yet to meet. Am I nervous? A little. I wanted to know what type of people I'd be living with for a whole year, I'm hoping I get quiet people and people who're very clean. I really can't stand messy people, especially if you're sharing the same space as me.
My family went to the local supermarket to buy me some groceries and household products, because me being kimayah; completely forgot that I'm going to need to eat whilst I'm here.
This gave me time to unpack my items and make my room feel more homely.
My room was quite spacious as I did request a room with extra floor space, I knew if I had a standard room that I'd feel to claustrophobic and cramped.
Luckily enough for me, I had gotten a small double bed.. Some accommodations have single beds and I wasn't paying £9,225 for me to sleep in a single bed. I'm not that bitch PERIODTTT‼️ I actually make myself giggle.
I started with my bed, I placed my fresh grey and pink bed sheets and added my excessive amount of pillows/cushions to make my bed look pretty. I then put away all my clothes and shoes, all my clothes couldn't fit in my wardrobe so I had to keep some in flexi tubs and put them under my bed.
I'm really working with the small space in here. I then went onto hanging up my chalk/notice board. I decorated the frame of my bed with non-electrical fairy lights and hung up some pictures of me and my family. I'm really gonna miss them.
I moved into my en-suite, I placed down bath mats and put toiletry items in their allocated places. I made sure everything was in orderly fashion before I left. It seemed like I'd been tidying for only a few moments until I looked at my phone and realised it was now 2pm.
I had took out my stationary stuff and put them all on my desk, along with my laptop.
Moments later..
My parents and siblings arrived back here with a wholeeeee load of shopping items."Omg, you guys didn't have to spend this much on groceries" I said as I looked at the amount spent on alllll of this food
"Well you're gonna need it mayah, this is gonna last you a good month or 2. Providing you go easy on all the box foods" my mum stated as she started to unpack
"We did buy you a few meats but it's best to do a meat shop every week or you could buy meat every month and store some in the freezer" my dad said.
I just nodded my head. As I was still the only one who's actually arrived, I could pick my cupboards and sides of the fridge first. I decided to put labels on my stuff because I know how people can be. I wouldn't hesitate to share my food, only if I'm asked, but I know people have no manners and will just take my things.
