Episode 10 "Surrounded By Cops"

As he quickly makes his way over to Shaylynn, Severide looks over at the man and woman on the floor to see they have holes between their eyes.
Turning his attention to Shaylynn, he takes his phone out of his pocket and calls 9-1-1 giving them his information.
He hangs up and puts his phone back in his pocket as Shaylynn starts to stir around, "Fucker!" she says as she tries to sit up with her hand covering her left shoulder.
Severide smiles and helps her sit up, he looks at her back, "It went through," he tells her, "I'll be right back."
He runs back to the kitchen and grabs a few towels for her wounds.
Quickly making his way back to her, Severide hands her a towel to put pressure on the front as he puts a towel over the back wound, "What happened?" he asks her.
"The prick got lucky," she tells him moving her hand looking at the wound, "If he wasn't dead I'd kill him!"
Severide helps her stand up and sit down on a chair, "Thanks," Shaylynn tells him, then moves her hand again to look at the state her jacket's in, "The prick ruined my favorite jacket!" she says as she stands up and walks over to the guy kicking him in the ribs.
Severide hurries over and puts his arm around her, guiding her back over to the chair putting the towel back on her wound, "Sit down!" he tells her.
Shaylynn sticks her tongue out at him as she sits down.
After she sits down, both of them hear tires squealing to a stop. Looking out the windows they see Halstead running toward the restaurant.
Quickly opening the door he rushes over to her, "Oh God!" he says looking at her.
"Jay, it's alright. I've been shot in worse places," Shaylynn tells him not making him feel any better.
"But I wasn't around then," Halstead tells her as he takes over for Severide putting pressure on the exit wound.
He quickly looks over at the man and woman on the floor.
Shaylynn looks at Severide, "You better get out there to Beth before she comes inside. She won't be able to handle this sight."
"Alright," Severide says putting his hand on Halstead's shoulder, "Call me and let me know how things go at Med."
Halstead looks at him, "I will," he says turning his attention back to Shaylynn.
"Kelly, thank you!" Shaylynn tells him.
Severide smiles at her then bends down and kisses her on top of the head, "You need to start being careful," he tells her.
Shaylynn gives him a look, "I told you he got lucky!" she tells him with Halstead now giving her a look.
"See ya guys later," Severide says walking to the door and walking out.
Shaylynn watches Severide walk out then turns her focus to Halstead who's staring at her, "What?" she asks.
"Did you forget that you weren't wearing Henry?" Halstead asks her as they wait on the Ambulance.
"You heard what I told Kelly, the prick got lucky," Shaylynn tells him.
Halstead looks at her wound then looks at her, "What would I have done if this would have been lower? How would I have raised the kids?" he questions her as tears start to fill his eyes.
"Jay, you're a wonderful Father! If something would have happened to me, you would do a wonderful job on your own," she tells him.
"Well, I don't want to find out!" Halstead says scolding her as the ambulance pulls up outside.

Brett and Foster rush into the restaurant to see Halstead and Shaylynn as the FBI and CPD start arriving.
Brett runs back out and comes back in a few seconds later carrying a new bag. She sits it down on the table beside Shaylynn who sees it has her name on it.
"Sylvie, why does that bag have my name on it?" Shaylynn asks her.
Brett looks at Foster who's smiling at her, she then turns her attention to Shaylynn, "It's meant to be used on anyone who gets shot by you but we've never had to use it because there haven't been any survivors. So I figured we could use it on you."
Shaylynn smiles and starts laughing as Halstead crosses his arms and shakes his head.

At Med, Dr. Manning looks over Shaylynn. As she's stitching up her shoulder, Shaylynn sees a new doctor walk by.
"Nat, who's the new doctor?" Shaylynn asks her as she watches him.
Dr. Manning quickly looks then looks back at Shaylynn's shoulder, "Dr. Marcel," she says.
"Very nice," Shaylynn says as Dr. Manning looks up at her, "What? I'm not dead! As long as I don't touch everything's fine."
Dr. Manning shakes her head as she goes back to stitching Shaylynn's shoulder, "I'm going to tell Jay," she says with a smile on her face.
"I don't care! I know he looks," Shaylynn tells her.
Dr. Manning finishes up and throws everything away.
She turns around and looks at Shaylynn, "I highly doubt he looks at anyone else," she tells Shaylynn.
"Why? I'm no catch," Shaylynn tells her.
Dr. Manning starts laughing, "There must be something in the Voight genes because I'm sure you've had and could have any man you want."
Shaylynn starts laughing so hard at what Dr. Manning said pain from her shoulder shoots through her, "I can't believe you said that!"
"It's true isn't it?" Dr. Manning inquiries.
"No!" Shaylynn tells her, "There have been plenty of guys I wanted but they had nothing to do with me."
"They had to be gay," Dr. Manning says smiling.
Shaylynn shakes her head as Dr. Manning puts a sling on her.
Surprised, Dr. Manning gives her a look, "Everything alright?" Shaylynn asks.
"I thought for sure you would give me grief about having to wear the sling," Dr. Manning tells her.
"Nah, I can hide a gun in there perfectly," Shaylynn says.
Dr. Manning shakes her head, "Of course you would say something like that," she says as Shaylynn gets down off the bed, "Come back in two weeks so I can look at the stitches. That's if you have any problems then get here ASAP!"
"Yes, Mother!" Shaylynn says smiling, Dr. Manning smiles back at her.

While waiting on Shaylynn, Halstead calls Severide, "Hey," Severide says, "How is she?"
"Natalie hasn't been taken out of the room on a gurney, so things must be going well," Halstead tells him as Severide laughs.
Halstead then hears the phone being shaken around, "Jay, how is she?" Beth asks him.
"She's going to be fine," Halstead tells her when he hears Severide in the background.
"Ask Beth what she did to her hair while she was in the car!" Severide yells.
Halstead then hears slapping, "OUCH!" he hears Severide say then starts laughing.
"What did you do to your hair?" Halstead asks Beth.
"Nevermind," Beth tells him.
"If Kelly brought it up, you must have done something pretty stupid," Halstead says smiling to himself.
By the silence, he can tell Beth's getting mad so he doesn't say anymore so she doesn't say anything to Shaylynn.
"Tell her to call me! I'm having a Christmas party and want to talk to her about it," Beth tells him.
"Alright, I'll tell her," he tells Beth as he looks over to the doors that lead into the ED, "She's walking out of the treatment room now," he says hanging up.

Walking out of the treatment room, Shaylynn and Dr. Manning run into Dr. Halstead, "What happened to you?" he asks Shaylynn.
"I stabbed myself," Shaylynn tells him with a straight face while Dr. Manning tries not to laugh seeing the expression on Dr. Halstead's face.
"She was shot in the shoulder," Dr. Manning tells him as a relieved look comes over his face.
"Shaylynn," Dr. Halstead says as she smiles at him.
"I'll see you two later!" Shaylynn tells them then walks out of the ED to the waiting area where Halstead is.
Dr. Manning and Dr. Halstead watch as Halstead stands up and kisses Shaylynn, "They're perfect for each other," Dr. Manning says putting her arm around Dr. Halstead's.

Arriving home, Shaylynn and Halstead walk in the side door that leads into the kitchen to see Riley and Reneé sitting at the island as Jill and Jacquelyn hand out Christmas cookies to decorate.
Shaylynn smiles, she walks up to Riley and gives her a one-armed hug and does the same to Reneé.
Jacquelyn sees Shaylynn's arm, "Mommy, what happened to your arm?" she asks her.
"Santa needed some help and while helping him I got hurt," Shaylynn tells her daughter hoping she buys it.
"Okay," Jacquelyn says as she picks what icing she wants to decorate a cookie with.
Shaylynn gets a relieved look on her face as Halstead, Riley, and Reneé smile.
"How are things with you two?" Shaylynn asks Riley and Reneé as Halstead walks out of the kitchen.
"Things are good," Reneé tells her as Riley shakes her head, "Same for me," Riley says.
"Boyfriends are behaving themselves?" Shaylynn asks looking back and forth between them.
Riley and Reneé both start laughing, "Yes," they both say together.
"Being surrounded by cops and you, I'm surprised he'll even kiss me," Reneé says.
"Hey! What do you mean by that? Being surrounded by cops and me?" Shaylynn asks.
"You're the deadliest out of the group," Reneé says then starts to laugh.
"Only when I need to be," Shaylynn reminds her.
"I better get back to the District," Reneé says as she stands up, "I was told to drop Riley off here but since you and Jay weren't here I stuck around."
"Thanks, Reneé," Shaylynn tells her as they walk over to the door.
Shaylynn opens it up, "Don't be a stranger," she says to Reneé as she walks out.
"Tell Jay I said bye," Reneé says.
"I will," Shaylynn tells her.
She watches as Reneé gets into her car and drives down the driveway.
Closing the door, Shaylynn turns around and sees Halstead standing on the other side of the kitchen doorway motioning to her to come to him.

Walking out of the kitchen, Shaylynn walks up to him, "What is it?"
"They found Hailey's killer," he tells her, "He's at a bar on Halstead Street."
