Episode 7 "Safer With Me"

"Come on, Beth! You can't sit down! We need to make a run for it!" Shaylynn tells her, she grabs Beth and pulls her out of the elevator as a pregnant woman blows past them to get on, "Lady, don't use the elevator! We need to get everyone out and down the stairs!" she says as she sees a sales assistant, "Excuse me! Has 9-1-1 been called?"
"Yes, they've been called," the sales assistant tells her.
"Alright, gather up other members of the staff and make sure everyone leaves via the stairs! Do not use the elevator! Do you understand?" Shaylynn asks her.
"Yes," the sales assistant says as Beth was using her phone.
Shaylynn hears Beth tell Severide that Macy's on fire then sees a confused look on her face before she breaks down crying.
She grabs Beth's phone, "Kelly, Macy's is on fire! We're on the fifth floor and I can smell gasoline!" Shaylynn tells him.
Severide gets a surprised look on his face grabbing Halstead and Casey's attention, "What! We're on our way over! You and Beth get out of there!" he tells her.
"There are people up here, pregnant women! I'll help get them out" Shaylynn tells him then hangs up, handing Beth her phone back, "Beth, you go downstairs!"
"No, I'm not leaving you!" Beth tells her crying.
"Beth, please! I'm not arguing with you!" Shaylynn tells her pushing her toward the stairs, Beth stops and looks at her, "Now!"
Beth turns around and starts walking down the stairs as Shaylynn stands there making sure she doesn't stop.
Once Beth was out of her sight, Shaylynn turns back around in search of other women.
Looking around, she finds a woman hiding in a dressing room coughing.
Quickly opening up the door, Shaylynn helps the woman up. Once she's standing, she takes off her mask and puts it on the woman.
"Let's go," Shaylynn says leading the woman over to the stairs.
"I don't know what got into me!" the woman tells her as they reach the stairs, "Thank you!" the woman says.
"You can thank me by getting yourself and unborn child safely downstairs!" Shaylynn tells her, "Now go!"
The woman starts down the stairs then takes a quick glance over her shoulder to see Shaylynn disappear back onto the maternity floor.
On her way to search the floor again, Shaylynn grabs a top and ties it around the back of her head to cover her nose and mouth.
Quickly making her way around the floor, she finds no one and heads toward the stairs to see Halstead and Casey standing there.
"Shaylynn!" Halstead yells as she walks over to him, he puts his arms around her, "I think everyone's out," she says looking at Casey.
"For God's sake, Shaylynn! You're not a firefighter!" Halstead tells her as Herrmann walks over.
"Jay, she did good! She gathered up all the pregnant women and got them out safely," Herrmann tells him.
Halstead kisses her, "Let's get down to the ground floor," he tells her.
"Hurry, they're turning the water on!" Herrmann says.
Halstead grabs Shaylynn's hand to make sure nothing happens to her and starts walking down the stairs.

Making it to the ground floor and then outside, Shaylynn sees Beth is over by Ambulance 61.
She and Halstead walking over there, "Beth!" she says coughing a little.
"Shaylynn, we'll check you over!" Dawson tells her.
"I'm fine! I just need a drink of water," Shaylynn tells her.
"You should get checked over just in case," Halstead tells Shaylynn.
She looks at him, "Jay, I'm okay," she tells him smiling then gives him a kiss to reassure his worries.
"Okay!" he tells her.
Brett hands Shaylynn a bottle of water from inside the Ambulance, "Thank you, Sylvie!" she says as she takes it from her.
Unscrewing the cap, Shaylynn downs it without stopping catching Beth, Dawson, and Brett by surprise.
"It was so hot up there!" Shaylynn says as she puts the cap back on the bottle, "I don't know who's more cursed? You or I?" Shaylynn says as she and Beth look at each other.
"Tell me about it! I seriously need a glass of wine!" Beth says rubbing her stomach.
"Maybe on Christmas Day if he comes on time!" Shaylynn tells her.
Beth lets out a tut, "I doubt it! I know he'll be two weeks late!" Beth says as Shaylynn gets a look on her face, "What's the look for?" Beth asks.
"Well, he is a Severide male. He'll stay in as long as he can!" Shaylynn says with a smile on her face as Dawson snickers.
"Ha! Ha! Very funny!" Beth tells her.
Shaylynn starts laughing, "Well, no more dramas, please!" she pleads with Beth.
"I'll try! What are Kelly and Matt doing up there?" Beth asks.
"They're over there!" Dawson tells her.
Shaylynn watches as Beth turns her head in the direction where Severide is standing, "Who's he talking to?" she asks.
"That's Alexa Hubble. She's the Captain for the Office of Fire Investigation," Dawson tells her.
"It was definitely arson. We both could smell the gasoline," Shaylynn says as the pregnant woman she found in the dressing room walks up to her.
"I'd like to thank you so much for getting me out of there!" she tells Shaylynn.
"You don't have to thank me," Shaylynn tells the woman.
"What's your name?" the woman asks," I'd like to name my daughter after you."
Shaylynn looks at Halstead then looks back at the woman, "My name is Shaylynn but you don't have to do that."
"Shaylynn, I do! You were so brave," the woman says.
Shaylynn looks at the woman, "Thank you!" she says.
"No, thank you!" the woman says smiling at her.
The woman hugged her.
Shaylynn had a tear in her eye that she quickly wiped away as the woman backed away from her. Looking over at Halstead, she saw him smiling at her as the woman walked away.
"Through that hard exterior!" Halstead says to her.
"Shut up!" Shaylynn says smiling at him.
"You should have said your name was Gertrude!" Beth tells Shaylynn as Brett laughs.
Halstead glares at Beth, "You're not funny!" he tells her, "You just ruined a beautiful moment!"
"I'm the funniest person you know Jay Halstead!" Beth says.
"You go hide in that great big bag of yours!" Halstead tells her with Beth making a face at him.
