Episode 13 "Most Dangerous Person"

The next day the water starts receding away from the Halstead property.
Gathering up his stuff to head to work, Halstead looks at Shaylynn, "Are you sure you don't want me to go into the city with you?" he asks her.
"No, I'm fine. I've been through identifying bodies before," she tells him.
"That might be so but none of them have been any of your stepbrothers," he tells her.
"Jay, I'll be fine," she says.
Halstead moves closer to her, "If you need me, call! And I'll be right there. Okay?" Shaylynn shakes her head 'yes', "I love you!" he says putting his hand on the side of her neck pushing it back into her hair.
"I love you too," she says.
Halstead picks up a bag, "You be careful and watch out for any water you're not sure of," he says.
"I will," Shaylynn says as he opens the door.
"I'll see you later," he says then walks out the door shutting it behind him.
Shaylynn stands there and takes a key off the key holder that's on the wall when Riley and Reneé walk into the kitchen, "You ladies ready?" she asks him.
"Yeah," Reneé says taking her keys out of her bag.
"What are you driving?" Riley asks Shaylynn.
"The big truck out there," Shaylynn tells her opening the door.
"That's yours?" Reneé asks.
"Yes," Shaylynn says smiling as she closes the door, "If we come to any water that's questionable, I'll see what it's like. If it comes up to a certain point on my truck, you two most definitely won't be able to get through it. Alright?!" she says looking at Reneé.
"Alright," Reneé says.
Everyone gets into their vehicles and drive down the driveway.

Coming up to a bridge, they see Halstead's truck is stopped.
Shaylynn gets out of her truck and looks back at Reneé "Stay there," she tells her.
She starts walking toward Halstead, "Why are you sitting there for?" she asks him.
"I think the bridge has come apart some because my front wheels are stuck," he tells her.
"Alright. I'm coming," Shaylynn says then starts walking back to her truck but she walks past it back to Reneé's car.
Reneé rolls down the window, "Jay's front wheels are stuck and I have to get him out. You two sit tight. After I get him out I'll have to take you guys a different way."
They both nod at her.
Shaylynn walks back to her truck, gets in, and starts driving through the water.
With her wheels being bigger, they don't get stuck and makes it to the other side.
She takes a chain out of the back and attaches it under her truck.
Halstead walks up to her and takes the other end from her. Walking back over to his truck, he attaches it underneath.
He gets into his truck as Shaylynn gets into hers.
In no time Halstead is on the other side of the bridge.
Getting out, he takes the chain off both trucks and puts it in the back of Shaylynn's.
As he walks back to his truck, Shaylynn turns around and stops beside him, "I'm taking the girls a different way. Make sure you remember about this bridge."
"I'm going to get ahold of the County and let them know so they'll put up 'Road Closed' signs," he tells her.
"Alright, be careful!" she tells him as she drives back across the bridge.

Taking a small detour, Shaylynn finally gets the girls back to the city.
Following them, Reneé drops Riley off then she starts heading the way she needs to go.
Watching Reneé drive down the street, Shaylynn determines she's going to be fine.
Putting her truck in drive, she heads to the morgue.

Walking into the morgue, there are several ladies behind the desk one looks up and sees her, "Mrs. Halstead?" she asks.
"Yes," Shaylynn says.
"I'm Dr. Kim," she tells her as she walks around the desk toward her, "Before we go back I must warn you about the state your stepbrother is in."
"What happened?" Shaylynn asks her.
"The hospital didn't tell you?" Dr. Kim asks her.
"No, they just said there was an accident and he passed away," Shaylynn tells her.
"Your stepbrother drowned," Dr. Kim tells her.
Shaylynn looks at her surprised, "That can't be! He's a strong swimmer."
"He got caught up in the flood in his car and couldn't get out," Dr. Kim says.
Shaylynn closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, "Are you ready?" Dr. Kim asks, Shaylynn shakes her head 'yes', "Follow me," the doctor says.
As they walk to the back, Shaylynn's phone rings. She looks down at it to see it's Beth.
She slides her finger across her screen to the left to deny the call.
When she looks back up, Dr. Kim is standing in front of a door.
She opens it and they both walk in.
