"No school's just pointless!" I argued back to Juli. She doesn't think school is completely useless and that really sets me off because how couldn't you? "Okay? End of discussion."
Jason chuckled, "Whatever you say Ava." Jason has been Kenny's friend since before birth so we have to deal with him. I'm totally kidding! Jason is a great guy and the only other guy in our group, we'd have more people but we need to actually socialize for that.
We all get to the lunchroom and went to sit at our table. Those who went to get lunch got up and it was just me and Tate. "So what do you think I should wear?" She asked me all jittery.
"Where to what?" I asked her.
"After school on Friday silly!" She giggled and almost started to imagine what would happen at our study session with Daniel and Jonah.
I rolled my eyes, "We're just studying, I might even invite Kenny." I shrugged.
"You and Kenny have been a thing for months, when are you going to make your move?" Tate asked with a bit of jealousy in her voice. I knew she always felt so single so I never liked to bring up something that might trigger her.
I bit my lip, "Umm I don't know."
Tate sighed, "I'm sorry Ava, I just really like Jonah and maybe we could double date!" She squealed.
I looked back over at Kenny with Juli, Haley, and Jason waiting in line patiently. "Maybe Tate."
She looked at me unconvinced, "Just come on! Look, I'll bet by homecoming you two can seal the deal!"
"Homecoming is a month away." I told her.
"Then hop to it." She giggled with me.
Then something catastrophic happened. The infamous five, sat at our table. Jonah sat right next to Tate, and Daniel next to me. "Hello ladies." Jack smiles.
"Goodbye Avery." I sneered at him.
Zach laughed, "She's so funny!" His mouth hung open and I rolled my eyes.
"Hey Avaaa!" Juli came up from behind Tate and I, "What's going on here?"
I turned to look at the boys, "Nothing, these boys were just leaving."
"Were we now?" Jonah leaned in, "Why don't you make me Ava?"
"Okay I will." I got up, grabbing his and Zach's backpack off the table and walking all the way over to the table filled with cheerleaders. "Girls! Oh my gosh! I got Jonah and Zach's backpacks!! Hurry run!!" I throw the backpacks into the giant group of girls and they run away.
I turned around, crossing my arms and smirking at Jonah who looked intrigued. He and the other boys get up and go after the cheerleaders. Jonah's eyes don't leave my own, he just walks up to me slowly with a small smirk. He stopped when there was only a few feet separating us, "You're so different Ava."
"Oh really." I cocked my head to the side.
Then Jonah smirks and leans down to where there's only a few inches separating us, "Really." Then he walks away chasing after the cheerleaders with the boys.
I go over to the table and slammed my hands down sitting right next to Kenny. "About time we got peace and quiet from them."
