"Uhh- I don't know Ken, I'm kinda in a zone right now!" I said to Kenny hoping thats enough to get him away.
"Aww come on!" Kenny says from outside, "We've barely spent any time together! Come on, I miss my girl!"
"Well isn't that convenient?" Jonah said in a flat tone rolling his eyes.
I looked at him, "What's that supposed to mean??" Jonah didn't say anything he just avoided eye contact with me and glared at the door.
Kenny knocks again, "Come on A, please?"
Before I was gonna come up with another excuse Jonah scoffs and gets up, "Jonah-" I said quietly.
He shook his head, "No forget it Ava. I'll sneak out the window, I'll see you later." I could tell this was really bothering him. I couldn't tell during the school day but he had this time to look forward to and now Kenny was taking up his time. Before I could say anything Jonah had the window open and hopped out going to his car leaving me here.
I bit my lip and heard Kenny knock on the door again. As much as I wanted to run after Jonah, I knew better. It's my fault he felt so terrible right now and I hate myself for it but I couldn't let anyone know and I feel as if that'll be my downfall.
I open the door and I see Kenny holding a bag with a pint of Rocky road ice cream and smiling, "Hey you." He smiles and leans down to kiss me.
I turn my head so that he kisses my cheek. "Hey yourself." I said awkwardly.
"You ready to binge The Office all night?" He asked me, it was clear he'd been waiting for one of these nights for a while. I'd completely forgotten the last time we'd done one of these. Jonah and I have been doing our thing for two weeks but still.
I bit my lip, "I have a huge test to study for." I said to him. This wasn't a lie, I did have a test to study for and so did Jonah, we just planned on getting to that after the Christmas movie.
"I'll help you study." He says with a smile, "What's it for?" Boy am I glad I didn't have all of my classes with Kenny...
**Jonah's POV**
I read the message and didn't know how to respond. It was almost impossible for me to stay angry at Ava, it's just who she is. Her selfless nature and compassionate attitude can make anyone feel guilty about even thinking about feeling certain ways toward her. I rolled my eyes and put my phone down and hit my steering wheel. It was always Johnson who got in the way. Not just Johnson but Tate too. M
y head hurt, real relationships aren't something I was used to. I needed to clear my head but not in the way I usually did. I thought about it hard and ended up back home where my family was asleep. Not sure why I took myself here but I guess I'm home.
