"Okay class, new seating chart today so everyone on the sides of the classroom while I put you in your seats." Ms. Peterson said. I stand off to the side with Tate and Kenny, Haley and Juli aren't in this class with us sadly but they decided to fail Geometry freshman year so they're only in second year algebra now. "Gabriela Gonzalez and Jack Avery." Ms. Peterson puts them up front. Jack and Gabbie have had an on and off relationship that's really confusing but I know she put them in front so that when they were on again, they wouldn't be making out in the back.
Kenny moves to grab his textbook he left at his desk and I noticed Jonah Frantzich right beside Tate. He was whispering something in her ear and I saw her blush and try to keep her composure. Knowing Tate she'll be like every other girl. I have to protect her from him. But, again, knowing Tate, she won't listen to me. I bit my lip as Tate giggled. "Caleb Jacobsen, Kenny Johnson." Mrs. Peterson interrupts my thoughts placing Kenny in the far left row, in the middle. She moves behind them, "Jonah Frantzich, Tatum Dahl." My entire heart drops. Jonah cannot be sitting next to Tate, she's gonna be heartbroken when he drops her!
The two move, Tate a little more willingly than Jonah. She already has a huge crush on him. Has she already forgotten he almost killed me?? Mrs. Peterson continues to name off people then she gets to the table behind Tate and Jonah. "Ava Wing and Daniel Seavey." I rolled my eyes and reluctantly walked over to my seat. I guess if I had to sit next to one of the infamous five I'd choose Daniel or Corbyn, they're the least harmful. At least I think so.
Daniel sits beside me throwing his backpack down, "Looks like you're stuck with me Ava." He smirked.
"Unfortunately so." I retorted. Out of the corner of my eye, I notice Jonah had turned around with a nasty look in his eyes. A look that scared me, it didn't seem directed towards me but if it wasn't towards me, then who was it for?
**Near the End of Class**
Jonah whispers something into Tate's ear again and she giggles. This guy is really trying to pull a fast one. Daniel shifts uncomfortably, "Yeah so since we're partners now, whaddya say we get together, at my place and study." He smirks again.
Jonah dropped his pencil and turned around, for some reason the table backed up into Daniel and Jonah glares again, this time I know it's towards Daniel, but why? "If you guys are thinking of studying together, how about a double date, me and Tate, and you and Ava?" Jonah says to Daniel, the look softened but you could tell the tension was still there.
Tate turns around and stares at Jonah like a puppy, "I would love to do that." She said and looked at me with pleading eyes.
Daniel smiled like he was accepting a challenge. "I'm down for that." Then he turns to me. "What about you Ava?"
My eyes went from Daniel to Jonah then to Tate, "Nah I'm good." I shook my head. I didn't need help on this and I'm not interested in a study date. As I pack my things up I think about Tate, if it's just those three, lord knows Jonah is gonna come up with some excuse to be alone with Tate. "Actually." I said starting to regret my decision, "How about we all meet at my place to study?"
I sighed and put my phone down. I really can't talk Tate out of this which is terrible. I'm sure she's not the first girl to have this idea either but there really is no convincing her. When the girl wants something, she'll have it.
