I dragged Jonah into the apartment and the leftover food in his arms almost spilled. "Okay, Ava." He says as we stopped and put the food down, "Look you know I love being dragged into your apartment with you, but I feel like that's not where this is going." He says to me joking. [ <- if you didn't understand thay reference good for you].

I shook my head, "Our problems might be over Jo."

"Our problems?" He asked me eating a fry.

"You may wanna sit down." I said to him so he could prepare himself for the amount of information that's about to come. "So-" I get cut off by a knock on the door, I checked the clock, 7:05, she's early. "She's earlier than I thought." I say and I go to answer the door to see Angela, still in her business suit and one of those business bookbags.

"Hello Ava, may I come in?" Angela asked me. You know for a business bitch, she's really polite.

I moved out of the way, "Come in." I said to her.

Jonah stands up and turned over to see who it is. "Hi I'm Jonah." He says reaching out his hand to shake hers.

"Angela Kingston." She says shaking his hands. Then she turns to me, "Let's get right to business shall we?"

"Well Angela, I haven't exactly told Jonah what's going on yet." I tell her.

"Then he can catch up on our review." She says like she already had the whole thing planned and takes a seat on the couch, laying out all of her paperwork into neat piles. She really came prepared.

Jonah and I exchange a cautious look and we both sit down while she catches Jonah up on what's been going on. The second Josh is mentioned Jonah's jaw tightens, his jealous thing is kicking in again.

"Now that you're caught up, let's discuss what I have." Angela says to us and shoves a large file in front of our faces, "Everything they've done to Ava in since their last three assistants before me."

"You're kidding." I said to her and looked through the file, it went all the way back to when I was ten. I look through it all, some things I wasn't even aware of. "All of this?"

"And I've added your current circumstances and I have a flash drive containing the security footage from the recent meetings." Angela explains to me. "I'm willing to anonymously give this to the police with your blessing, it would release you from your contract and get them out of their business immediately."

I closed the file, "Angela, I have to ask, this is all very kind of you to offer, but you never answered what I'd have to do for you." I say to her. In the world of business, connections and negotiations are the only way to get by.

She takes a breath, "I started as your parents assistant three years ago, bright eyed, hoping to start my own label one day." She took a deep breath, "When I saw what needed to be done and how they handled it, I have a space and I've already started looking for clients but I want you to be my first client Ava."

My eyes expanded not knowing what to think, "You're serious?" I asked her.

"Yes, I'm qualified and you're already a chart topper, I know its a lot to bet on but-"

I cut her off, "No I'm completely okay with it." I told her. "As long as I don't have to go through the same bullshit."

"And you won't." Angela says relieved then looks at Jonah who's been silent this whole time. "May I use your restroom and I'll leave you two here to discuss this?"

I nodded, "Yes, its down the hall and to the right." I say to her.

She gets up quickly and goes down the hall and I look at Jonah. "So you didn't think to tell me about Josh?"

I bit my lip, "Look I'm sorry I didn't tell you immediately but you know I love you and I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize us, I was going to tell you before Angela got here." i told him.

Jonah, still angry, calms a little, "A new record label?"

"She obviously has experience and knows what she's doing. She's already started and everything." I told him. "Maybe it would be good for me."

"You should run it by Jon." He tells me.

I nod, "And I will, but I honestly think this is what's best for me."

Jonah hesitates, "Look Ava, I trust you and your judgment but you never know what she might have up her own sleeve."

"You're right." I say to him. He is right but I was so focused on the fact that I could be rid of my parents it almost clouded my judgment. "But please let's hear her out?"

Jonah thinks about it and nods, "Okay."
