A car horn honks and I jump up from the couch with Jonah. "Jeez who is that?" I said angrily pausing Friends. Jonah and I are finally watching it the first time through. I walk out of my apartment and I see Tate waving in her car.

My heart rate quickened. Oh gosh, what was she doing here? I'm not okay. "GET IN LOSER WE'RE GOING SHOPPING FOR HOMECOMING DRESSES!!" She sings out to me all excited, "Go get dressed hurry I'll wait out here!"

I knew I wasn't getting out of this. I huffed and go inside. Jonah sits upright, "Who was it?"

"Your girlfriend." I huffed closing my door. "She wants to go dress shopping."

Jonah huffed, "I'm sorry, I didn't expect her to get in the way as much as she has been recently." It's true, Tate's been following Jonah around like a puppy, even more now than before. Always in his car, always calling him, always around in some way.

"Ugh, I have to go dress shopping, homecoming is in a week." I said and flopped on the couch, my head landing in Jonah's lap. "But I don't wanna go to homecoming!!"

"You do but with me." The smirk on his face grew and he winked at me.

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, use the spare key and leave after I do." I said getting up and going to get changed.

"Why are you changing?" He asked me.

I scoffed putting sweatpants on, "I'm not going out in spandex and a sweatshirt!"

"But you look beautiful!!" He retorts.

I walked out putting my hair up in a messy bun, "I'm not trying to impress you."

"Too late." He giggles walking over and putting his arms around my waist, "Have a good time baby." He leans down and I close my eyes and give him a peck on the lips. Every time we do anything little it makes my heart melt, but sadly it can't be forever.

We pull away and I smile up at him, "Don't have too much fun without me." I go to open the door and walk out, grabbing my purse and keys with me. "Hey Tate!" I called out waving to her.

"Hey babe!!" She waves, "Now get in! Let's go to the mall!!"

I giggled, "Okay okay!" I said getting into the passenger side, "Let's go." I smiled putting my seatbelt on.

**LATER**

I looked at myself in the mirror and froze. I couldn't believe I look like this. This dress felt perfect. "Tate!" I called out to her, "I found the dress!"

"Yay!" She squeals, "The perfect homecoming deserves the perfect dresses to start off our perfect night!!"

This statement brought a frown to my face, the perfect night requires the right guy, mine is going with my best friend...
