Haibara bit her lip, watching with sharp eyes as the Professor bustled around the laboratory like normal. Except this wasn't normal. It's been two weeks? A month? She hadn't a clue. Kuroba and Kudo had gone missing during the most recent heist of Kaitou Kid's. Kudo had informed her about Pandora - and that's what worried her. She knew of their mission - locate a gem that supposedly has the power to grant immortality and destroy it. What was concerning was the gem was gone, along with the reckless duo. What really stuck out to her - after combing through the case files - was how there hadn't been any sign of them moving from a particular spot, and Nakamori insisted he saw a flash of bright light encase them, and when it had subsided they were nowhere to be found.
She had panicked - what if they'd noticed and decided to dispose of them? The professor calmed her down though, stating that Nakamori likely would have noticed if there was a helicopter, and there were no signs of a struggle and not enough time to make off with them if they were sedated. Which begged the question: exactly what happened?
People were worried - namely Kudo and Kuroba's parents, a girl named Nakamori Aoko and of course Mouri Ran. Hattori also seemed rather concerned, as well as another detective - Hakuba Saguru and the entirety of Division One and Two.
She straightened at the ring of a doorbell. "Come in!" She called, forcing herself to put on the mask of indifference, her only shield against the world. She was surprised when Hattori walked in, a serious look on his face.
"I have an idea 'bout Kudo an' Kuroba's disappearance!" He declared, and Haibara didn't even bother trying to hold onto her poker face. "What?!" She snaps, disbelief clear on her face, overriding her concern for the moment.
Hattori nods proudly, grinning. "Yup! Kudo went into another world!" Haibara stops, freezing. Anger surged through her, and she glares at him, catching him off guard. "W-what? It's the truth!" She would've laughed at the look on his face if she wasn't so damn angry.
She stomps up close to him, seething. "How the hell can you joke at a time like this! This is serious, and here you are spewing ridiculous, illogical ideas for what? A good laugh!" The force of her glare sends him reeling. "We're spending all the time we can, trying to find them and yet...." She falters, feeling her eyes water she hastily and harshly rubbed her eyes, clenching her teeth in frustration.
"Hear me out!" He calls, holding up his hands in surrender. Haibara sends him a withering glare, but he soldiers on, trying to ignore her hostility. "Think about this logically -" Haibara snorts derisively. "- It doesn't show any signs of them leaving the roof - an' the blinding light? They probably found Pandora, and instead of gaining immortality they were taken to another world!" Hattori quickly continues, trying not to give Haibara a chance to yell at him again. "I've been talkin' with Jii-han, an' we've been goin' through the legend of Pandora. We found out that the hope that was trapped inside the box probably meant hope as in salvation, which could also mean salvation in another world. An' some girl - Koizumi-han - confirmed tha' - she says she's a witch and wants Kuroba here...so she might help us too."
Haibara blinks, surprised at the absurdity of it all - yet it held some form of dubious logic, she supposed. She sighs. "I suppose we can look into this further - it's at least some form of a lead. Do you have any physical evidence?" He smirked and held up a small plastic baggie with something that looked like purple dust?
She stared at in confusion. "Exactly what is that?"
"The dust of Pandora." She stares at him incredulously, while his smug look only grew. "This was found on the scene - an' bein' part of the investigation I was shown it a few times. The information wasn't released to the general public, that's why you don't know anythin' 'bout it." He winked, while Haibara felt a small spark of hope light in her heart. They had something to go off of!
She snatched the baggie from his hands, surprising him and rushed off to her lab to test this mystery dust. As dubious as this lead was - it was still something. She fully intended to make the most of this opportunity, she thought to herself as she pulled out her equipment, unable to restrain the small smile that made its way upon her face.
They could find them!

Whoop! Super excited for this aaaaaaaaaaaa! I have a million or so ideas, not enough time to execute them T^T
But yes! We're including Shin-chan's world now! :D Also, I had no idea how to pull off Hattori's accent, so yeah.
Hope you enjoy this - I sure am! See you in the next chapter! :D
