The ride home was quiet. Olivia stole glances at Jordan who had his attention on the road. She noticed that he had grown more masculine than the last time she saw him. His shirt hugged his body tightly, 'that's a bonus for being a fitness trainer' Olivia thought to herself.
She wondered if Jordan was doing this just because of the promise he made to Joseph or if he was only doing it because of the rain.
Jordan stopped in front of Olivia's home.
"Thanks for the ride and I'm sorry for ruining your seat," Olivia quietly said, Jordan just stared straight ahead.
"Um..." Olivia continued trying not to make the atmosphere more awkward than it already was.
"You can come inside for a while until the rain stops, that's if you don't mind," Olivia suggested.
Jordan turned to look at Olivia, making her regret what she just said, so she quickly got out of the car and ran to her door. While unlocking the door of her house, she realized that she hadn't heard Jordan's car drive off meaning that he hadn't left yet. She didn't want to look back to check, so instead she walked into her house but in less than five minutes she heard a knock on the door making her confused, wondering who would be at the door. Olivia opened the door to find Jordan standing there. She was suddenly at a loss for words.
"Pl-please, um, come in." She stuttered, giving way for Jordan to come in. He walked into the house studying it.
"Make yourself comfortable while I go get coffee," she said and immediately left for the kitchen.
Olivia stood in the kitchen for two minutes trying to breathe. She couldn't believe that Jordan was in her house. After recovering from her shock, she decided to start making the coffee and not waste any more time.
Jordan was seated in the living room, after a while he stood up from the couch to look at the photos that were hung up around the living room. They were photos of Olivia, some of Joseph, and also photos of the both of them together. Jordan never imagined that Joseph would take his relationship with Olivia this far.
Olivia came out from the kitchen with a tray of coffee and cookies for both of them. She noticed Jordan was looking at the photos in the living room.
'Calm down, to Olivia' she inwardly cautioned herself.
"Here," she said, gaining Jordan's attention as he tore his eyes away from the photos to look at her.
She handed him his cup of coffee while she sat down to drink hers. He did likewise and they both drank their coffee in silence.
"So, this is the place Joseph got for you both?" Jordan asked staring directly at Olivia.
"Yeah," she quietly replied looking anywhere but him.
"It's nice," he confessed. Olivia was surprised by his confession but didn't show it.
"Thanks," she replied before the room fell into another awkward silence except for the sound of thunder and rain.
After some time, Jordan noticed that the rain had stopped, so he decided to take his leave.
"It has stopped raining, I'll take my leave now," he announced as he rose to leave.
"Oh, okay," Olivia replied and also stood up to see him to the door.
Jordan opened the door and was about to leave but stopped, contemplating whether or not to say goodbye to Olivia.
Meanwhile, Olivia stood behind wondering what could've made him stop. Jordan turned around said goodbye and quickly left, not giving Olivia a chance to reply. She was startled.
'Did Jordan just say goodbye to me?' She wondered before shutting her door.
Sorry, this chapter was a bit shorter than the others.
