Melina POV:
"I can't do this. I can't do this." I said as I ripped my necklace off and sat down on my bed.
"Except you have to go. And somehow I have to as well." Lucas said fixing his tie in my mirror.
"Lucas!" I said covering my face with my hands. I could feel the anxiety setting in already.
"Yo does this suit look too tight on me? I borrowed it from Parker." Timmy said coming into my room looking at his sleeves. I sat up and gave him an up and down.
"You look fine." I threw myself back down again.
"Melina get up! You can't miss Carmen's broadway debut!" Lucas said.
"You think I don't know that! I can't go in that theatre though, I can't go in any theatre. I just can't!" I said.
"Come here Mel." Lucas said. I sat up on my bed and saw him walking towards me with my necklace.
"Remember when you didn't even think you could step foot into the school? And you did it and now you are totally fine walking into school everyday! I know you're scared, and you have every reason to be scared. But you're stronger than this." Lucas said sitting down next to me.
"And the Mellie I remember, her heart beat only for theatre. It was her passion. Why would you let one guy take that away from you. That's what he wanted. He wanted to take the things you loved away from you. Don't let him do that. Take the power back." Timmy said leaning against the doorway. I looked back and forth between them, and at the necklace Lucas held in his hands. I slowly lifted my hair up to the top of my head and allowed Lucas to place the necklace around my neck. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest, but he clipped the necklace and I let my hair fall back down.
"Hey sorry I'm late." Jason said appearing in the doorway next to Timmy. He looked at him very confused, waiting for an introduction.
"Jason! This is my Uncle Timmy!" I smiled as they shook hands.
"Uncle? You can't be older than 18." Jason laughed.
"Just turned 21 actually." Timmy laughed.
"I know you have a complicated family but I don't remember any mention of another uncle." Jason said.
"Ouch I'm hurt Mellie!" Timmy joked.
"It's a long story. But he's living with us now." I said.
"Oh, when did this happen?" Jason asked.
"Earlier this week!" I smiled. Jason looked down at the ground and didn't say anything. Why is he acting so weird?
"KIDS LETS GO!" Jordyn screamed from downstairs.
"J, I'm 21 now! I'm not a kid!" Timmy screamed back down.
"You'll always be Tiny Tim!" Parker laughed running past my room and messing up Timmy's hair. Timmy followed Parker and Lucas left right behind him leaving Jason and I alone in the room.
"I just need to grab my purse." I said heading over to my closet.
"Melina, is it just me or have you been acting really distant this past month? I mean I get it you were starting a new school and such but..." he said looking around the room.
"Jason you're overthinking this. I've just had a lot going on." I said walking up to him and grabbing his hands.
"You just spend all your time with Lucas now." he said.
"I'm with Lucas all the time because his sister is dating my uncle. And he's a friend! But I love you, not him." I said pushing back his hair. "But you are right, I have been acting distant. And I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Kiss me and make everything better?" I smiled. He pressed his lips against mine and I felt the weight of this evening fall right off of my shoulders. I'm safe with Jason, how could I have forgotten that? I pulled back from him and gave him a smirk.
