Last Day

Melina POV:

"Not going to lie, I didn't think we were going to make it through this school year." I said throwing my book bag down onto the picnic table and sitting down.

"Hey don't worry, we still have a full day left to fuck it up." Lucas laughed.

"Can we all just fly under the radar and end this school year on a good note?" Carmen begged.

"Mmm doesn't sound like us." Nate laughed and kissed her cheek.

"Did you two convince your parents to let you join us in the hamptons this summer?" Carter asked.

"Haven't even asked." I said.

"Why would they stop you." Aaron said.

"Vacationing with both of our boyfriends?" Carmen laughed.

"Well they don't exactly know Lucas and I are dating...." I said.

"You haven't told them!" Carter freaked.

"It's been 2 weeks!" Aaron said.

"I know! I just don't want to deal with Ben's freakout. Followed by Josh, Sky, and Parker's freakout." I explained.

"And I'm not trying to be killed." Lucas added.

"You can't hide your relationship forever." Carmen said.

"We're working on it ok!" I said done with the topic.

"We're gonna head off to homeroom, catch you all at lunch?" Lucas asked standing up and grabbing my hand.

"You better not be sneaking off to have sex." Carter said pointing at us.

"You never know." I winked at him and ran off following Lucas. "So where are we really going?"

"Just follow me ok." Lucas said. We pushed our way through the crowded hallways and finally made our way to the theatre. I followed him inside where he brought me up to the stage and we sat with our feet hanging off of the edge.

"Why are we here?" I asked.

"Do you remember when we first met?" Lucas asked.

"Yes at that mixer party. You invited us to your house for that crazy party where Carmen got plastered." I laughed.

"And then the next morning when my sister dragged me to your uncles house and they tortured us with our hangovers." he laughed.

"Who knew that night would lead to us literally living together." I joked.

"I remember meeting you at the party and right away I felt something. But I knew that you had a boyfriend so I tried to hide it being closer with Carmen than you. But that's not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about you." Lucas said grabbing my hand in his. "When I met you, you were still recovering from what had happened at your old school. You were too scared to even step foot in a theatre. He had taken your favorite passion from you. But now look at you, you're sitting here in this theatre like you own the place. Just like you used to. You open Dear Evan Hansen next week as a leading character. From me finding you in the bathroom having a panic attack on the first day to you now walking the halls like you are the baddest bitch here. Melina you amaze me. And I don't think you give yourself enough credit for everything you've overcome."

"Why are you telling me all of this?" I blushed.

"Because I just want you to see the amazing, inspiring girl that I see everyday." he smiled placing a hand on my cheek. "You've overcome more than most people have to in their whole lifetime. And that's just another reason I love you." I leaned into him and let his lips press gently against mine. He pulled me in closer to him and started running his hands down my body.
