Sky POV:

"I've never talked about this before. Nobody knows. Well, Melina and Ben know part of it but not my part." Kinsley explained. We had been waiting to have this conversation until she was ready. This had to be on her terms, it's her story to tell whenever she is ready. We had everything packed up and moved into the new apartment, it's our last day here.

"We don't have to talk about this if you don't want to." I reassured her.

"No, it's time somebody knew my story." We sat down in the middle of the floor. She explained to me how her mom and Lucas' dad got married when she was 15. He would hurt them. She didn't tell Lucas about him hitting her because even at a young age, Lucas wanted to protect her. "It would've killed him to know I was getting hurt. I didn't know what to do, I was too scared to tell anybody." She moved out at 19 and put some space between her and the family. When she was 23 she moved back closer to the house to try and watch over Lucas. "He's right Sky, I should have told somebody."

"Kinsley you were a kid when this started. You were scared. It's ok." I reassured her.

"No it's not ok. I wasn't there for him when he needed me." she said starting to cry.

"But you're here for him now, he's safe with you."

"Hey, can I talk to my sister?" Lucas asked walking into the room.

"Of course." I said standing up. "You're not trying to get out of moving in with us are you?" I joked.

"No sir, I'm all packed and ready." he said to me. I pat his back and then headed out of the room. When I left, I saw Carmen sitting right outside my room in the hallway.

"What's up Car?" I asked her. She looked up at me and she had tears streaming down her face. I sat down next to her and she threw her arms around me. She rested her head on my chest, she is definitely getting makeup all over my shirt. But I don't even care. "What's going on?"

"I'm just not ready for you to move out Sky." she cried. "You're the only person who really understands me, I tell you more than I tell Melina."

"And I hope you will keep telling me everything. Come sleepover whenever." I told her.

"But it's not the same. What happens when I have a bad day at school. Who am I going to come come and rant to? And go to Tony's and get ice cream?"

"Then instead of going home you come to my place. You know I'm always available for you. Any time, any place." I reassured her.

"Are cry sessions in the hallway normal here?"  Luke asked walking up to us.

"Carmen here's just not ready for the change that's happening." I explained.

"Hey, sometimes change is good." Luke said.

"How can this possibly be good?" Carmen asked.

"Well for one thing you won't have to deal with your uncles breathing down your neck every second of every day." I joked.
