Melina POV:

"Thanks again for helping free my uncle." I smiled to Sam as we sat in the park.

"Hey this isn't my first time getting somebody out of prison." Sam laughed.

"Deniability, right?" I asked.

"Yeah that's the best for you." he joked. "You forgot to mention who your family is by the way."

"Yeah, that was on purpose." I said. "I didn't want you to treat me differently."

"Why would I treat you different just because I know who your family is?"

"Because a lot of people do...just like my brother Damian." I said.

"Yeah I didn't want to mention it to you but he was a total ass." Sam laughed.

"Yeah...figured that out the hard way." I said quietly.

"So...lucas? You two are dating now?" Sam asked awkwardly.

"Sorry, it just slipped my mind and I forgot to tell you."

"It's ok, I was just surprised I guess."

"Surprised?" I asked confused.

"I just thought- nevermind it's nothing." he said shoving his hands in his pockets.

"No tell me!" I laughed.

"It's really nothing Melina! Honestly!" he laughed back. "I uh gotta go though, I'll text you ok?"

"Wait Sam!" I screamed but he was already running off. What the fuck! I looked at my phone and it was still an hour till I had to be at the theatre.

"Hey Melina?" I heard a small voice asked. I turned around to see a little girl around Maddie's age wearing an oversized DEH shirt, with a huge smile on her face. Her parents were standing behind her, her mom taking a video on her phone and the dad just happy to be there.

"Hi!" I smiled back kneeling down to the ground. "What's your name?"

"Sydney." she smiled shyly.

"That's such a beautiful name!" I smiled to her. "Are you going to see Dear Evan Hansen tonight?" I asked her.

"Yes! My mommy got me tickets!" she smiled proudly.

"You must have the best mom ever." I winked.

"Can I get a picture with you?" she asked. I still have a lot of time to kill...

"How about I do you one better? Why don't you and your family come to the theatre with me so I can show you around backstage!" she gasped and turned around to look at her mom.

"Can we!" she squealed.

"That would be incredible! Thank you so much!" her mom said in shock.

"Awesome! Let's head over! I got time to kill before the show." Sydney grabbed my hand and I started walking with them to the theatre. I found out that this is her first broadway show ever and that she's been waiting weeks for this! They flew in from Ohio for a special trip for her birthday! She sang me some of the songs from the show and was just so cute.

"When I grow up, I want to be just like you Melina!" she smiled. Oh kid, if only you knew. Trust me, you want to be nothing like me when you grow up. When we arrived at the theatre, Lucas was waiting outside the stagedoor for me.

"Baby!" I smiled running over and grabbing him in a hug. "What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to surprise you before your show with something." he said.
