Butterflies swarmed Natsus stomach as he led the beautiful blonde girl to his apartments door. Never did he imagine she would actually accept his offer to come over, especially so soon.

She smiled warmly at him as he grabbed his house keys and began fiddling with the door. She was a host to butterflies of her own, fluttering in her stomach as her heart raced against them. It wasnt like her, to be so forward with another person - but she felt a connection with Natsu. He seemed to appear in her life when she needed someone most and she wasn't ready to let fate disappear just yet.

"Welcome to my home." He grinned at Lucy, swinging open his apartment door and gesturing for her to head inside before him. "Also known as your basement." He joked, referring to the fact her apartment was directly above his.

"What a lovely basement I didnt know I had." Lucy joked, dimples pressing in her cheeks as she walked past him with a smile. She looked around as he led her into the main lounge room; his place was nice, quite quaint but tidy and sleek. She couldnt help but notice a slight smell of burnt food in the air, but brushed it off as he offered her a seat on the dark, fabric sofa to the side of the room.

"Hot chocolate?" He asked her, a very specific drink offer but somehow exactly what she was craving.

"That would be great." Lucy replied as she sat down and got comfortable. She almost couldn't believe she was in a complete strangers house right now - but there was just something about Natsu that made her feel safe and at home. Like, when she was with him, she didnt need to worry about her own problems anymore,  and could escape from her own life and enter this mysterious fantasy where she could do things she never normally would. Like going to a strangers apartment... she thought.

"Here." Natsu spoke softly, snapping the blonde from her thoughts as he handed her a mug of hot chocolate. "I hope you like cream and marshmallows." He added as he maneuvered to sit down beside her.

"I do, thankyou." She smiled, looking down at the mug with a perfect swirl of cream in the centre and little pink and white marshmallows dotted across the top.

"So..." Natsu began, glancing at Lucy beside him as he put down his own mug of hot chocolate and focused on her. "Wanna not talk and watch a movie?"

"Not talking sounds great right now."  Lucy replied gratefully. She could tell he wasnt pushing her to tell anything from the night before, which she appreciated deeply.

"Well I have the perfect film." Natsu replied, smiling brightly her way and sending a rush through her chest.

Before Natsu knew it, one movie night turned into two, and two into three... and then suddenly it was the fourth day in a row that Lucy was coming to Natsus apartment. He'd just got home from work, sending her a quick text to let her know, and just like that she had replied 'I'll be right over!'

He couldn't help but feel his heart warm at her response. The past 3 days they'd come to know eachother really well... and Natsu couldnt take his mind off her.

He no longer just worried for her as stranger who was crying in the apartment above his, but he seemed to care for her now - like a really close friend would.

A tap on his ajar front door alerted him to her appearance, and she gently pushed open the unlocked door that awaited her arrival.

"Hey, I'm here!" She called into his apartment, slipping off her shoes and joining Natsu in the living room.

"Hey!" He grinned as she walked into the room, but his jaw almost dropped when he saw her. She looked different today, perhaps she'd put on a little makeup and her hair was curled - whatever it was it made Natsu's heart flutter hard and his breath faltered if only for a second. She looked beautiful - everytime he saw her she seemed to take his breath away more and more.
