Hey, if you aren't American or in general just don't care for the 4th of July, you are welcome to skip. In general, you don't have to read this chapter and can just go to the next chapter (if it's published). Just to let you know if you decide to read this, it has nothing to do with the actual plot line and actually takes place after you and Shoto are together in 2nd year. You also had moved from America to Japan. Their independence day was in like February (tell Google thank you for me). Anyways, lets get on with it!
July 2nd, 2020 (lets just say the second school year ended in 2020 even though it most likely ends at like the end of Season 5 or something even though it isn't out yet...)
You were in your dorm, folding clothing and stuffing it into a suitcase. It was a large (f/c) suitcase containing tons of clothing and your everyday essentials. Most of the clothing included T-shirts and shorts.
Going back to your hometown of Page, Arizona (Omg my friend is so going to hate me for this...) which was most likely a terrible idea as you will dread going there in the MIDDLE OF SUMMER. As long as you got to see your parents you would be happy. They lived in a nice large house with your little brother, still containing enough space for your room as well as space for your two dogs to roam around (IM SO SORRY IF YOU'RE ALLERGIC TO DOGS!!! I JUST LOVE THEM!!! Pretend you aren't, and you should be fine).
As you zipped up your suitcase and grabbed the plane tickets from your nightstand, you sadly tripped over the coffee table in the middle of the room and fell onto your (2nd f/c) beanbag chair. Fortunately, your face hadn't ended up making its way to the ground and had preferably landed onto the most cushiony part of the chair.
A slight sigh escaped your lips and you lifted yourself off of the ground. You snatched your purse from the hooks you had had Todoroki help you place on the wall next to the doorway and headed out of your dorm.
Anyone would be wondering why you had two plane tickets, as it would make sense for you to just go on your own. But, you had decided to bring your beloved boyfriend, Shoto, with you, and had bought him the ticket. It was just your trip, so you thought that if he had to go through the suffering of your parents' annoying chatter, he should get a LARGE discount. He had consistently told you that he would buy the ticket himself if he were to go but you constantly refused to the point where he had just given up.
Waiting in the main lobby of the class 1-A dorms building, you texted Shoto that you would be waiting for him there.
You heard the elevator ding and quickly, on instinct, turned your head to see him standing with a small suitcase in one hand, and his phone in the other. He was wearing a black tank top that he would usually wear for training, and some shorts that he wore for the same reason. He was most likely just getting in a morning workout since he wouldn't be able to train for about a week.
"Are you ready, Shoto-kun?" you asked politely, jumping up out of your seat, ready to catch the train to Tokyo.
"Mhm." He kept his bland expression on his face as you two walked out of the building.
As you entered the train station, Shoto turned over to look at your excited expression. He lightly pecked your forehead and said, "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to come on this trip and meet your parents."
Your cheeks starting to burn made it take a very short distance of time to answer, "Oh it was no problem! Part of the reason that I decided to go home on for independence day is because my mom's birthday is on the 6th of July so I can be with her on that day. But it's even better now that you're coming too."
