"I FOUND PEACE IN YOUR VIOLENCE"
•••
I looked at Lucifer who was sleeping peacefully beside me.
He had been acting so strangely and I didn't know why.
To think of it, no one has been talking to me. Empire was taking a break for a few months because two of our girls got into an accident so I haven't talked to them.
Ellas been so busy lately and I'm not allowed to go to her lab and just hang out with her because of how many times I've been a suspect.
I'm not good friends with Chloe and Dan so I don't talk much to them anyways.
Even Charlotte and Amenadiel only come when I'm not there or when it's super late at night and I get woken up by their screaming matches.
I sighed quietly, shifting out of bed, carful not to wake Lucifer.
I open my laptop and book tickets to Detroit, I'm going home.
•••
I had given the lead bartender my leave of absence, telling him I'd be gone for probably a few days.
I haul my small suitcase to the hotel I booked for the last few days and immediately went to go see him.
My mother died when she had me and that's always made my dad resent me, when my grandmother saw how he treated us, she raised us.
I always felt so guilty when we left. He was poor and was always drunk. I knew it was my fault so I sent him money every month and visited a couple times a year.
The rest of my siblings cut ties with him completely and none of them knew that I was still talking to him.
I opened the door to the small house. It was a mess, the floor covered in take out boxes and beer bottles.
"Papa?" I said, I walked into his room seeing him in his bed watching tv. Drunk.
"What are you doing here?" He snarled.
"I just came to see how you were doing.." I said my voice slightly wavering, scared of what he might do.
"Well I don't need you to check on me."
"You're my dad, I want to."
"How about I don't want you to come see me?!" He lunged, hitting me.
I stumbled backwards, gasping.
"If you weren't here, your mother would be alive but she chose you! She chose you over her! We never should've taken that deal." He grumbled. I was too shocked to process anything he was saying.
My hand reached up to my face, touching the burning and stinging cheek.
I was also bleeding so that was a plus.
"Your siblings hate you, why do you think they've been gone so long? Ella only tolerates you because she feels bad for you, my daughter was always too good for her own good. All of my children wish you were gone, wish you were dead. So just do us all a favour and leave." He glared before passing out for the countless of beer bottles.
I got up, still shaking and pulled him onto the bed.
I wiped the fallen tears from my eyes as I started cleaning the house.
"He's just drunk, he doesn't mean it." I kept repeating to myself, trying to stop the tears from flooding my eyes.

"Miss Lopez! Have you seen your sister?" Lucifer walked into the lab where Ella had been working on their most recent case, another burned head.
"Uhh, nope. Haven't seen her in a couple of weeks actually, maybe a couple of months. Isn't she with you?"
"She was still sleeping when I left but when I went back, her suitcase was missing. I checked her apartment but she was gone."
"Have you tried calling her?"
"Bloody hell, Lopez! What do you think I did first!" Lucifer got more and more anxious by the minute. Taking his phone out to call her again but it went to voicemail.
"Maybe her phone died. I'm sure she's fine.." Ella said, trying to convince herself more than him probably.
Their heads turned to door that had just opened, Chloe and Dan stood there.
"Detectives! Amelia is gone."
"Wait what? What do you mean she's gone?"
"Literally disappeared off the face of the earth!"
"Lucifer, you need to calm down. I'm sure Amelia is fine."
"She's not." Ella started typing on her computer, booking tickets right away.
"Lopez, what did you find?" Lucifer immediately went to see what she found.
"Is she-?"
"She's in Detroit."
•••
"I tracked her phone, she's always getting in trouble so I placed a tracker in her phone. I know she knows but probably doesn't care." Lucifer and Chloe listened as she talked.
"Jesus, Millie. Please don't tell me you went to see him again."
Lucifer wanted to ask who she was talking about but she interrupted.
"There." She pointed. The small house that didn't look suspicious at all.
They knocked and heard a soft "I'm coming!"
"How much does he owe you..?"
•••
I didn't dare to look up, I thought it was one of his dealers who he promised to pay them back but it wasn't.
"Amelia..?" I looked up immediately, hearing my sisters voice.
"Ella..? What are you- what are you all doing here?" I asked, scared.
"Why did you come back here? I told you, he wasn't stable and to come here, alone." Ella scolded.
"Darling, why are you hiding your face?" Lucifer asked. His voice quiet.
He took a few steps towards me, his hand on mine.
"Come on now, let me see that beautiful face of yours." He whispered, lowering my hands I look away from him.
I knew that he was looking at the purple and yellow bruises around my eye and cheek, the cut on my cheekbone.
"He did that?!" Ella yelled before walking into the room, Chloe following her.
"Darling- did your father do that?" Lucifers hands formed into fists.
"Lucifer, dont. Please." I took a shaky breath. "My moms death anniversary is tomorrow. I shouldn't have came, knowing I was the reason she died. It was stupid and it brought back bad memories for my family. I should've just gone to Las Vegas or something."
"Don't do that, my love. I'm sure whatever it is, it's not your fault."
I laughed bitterly.
"She died because of birth complications, she died when I was born. Tell me, it isn't my fault." My glossy brown eyes stared into his.
"It's not." He brushed away my tears. "But you need to stop coming here alone, you keep getting hurt."
"It's nothing." I say, leaning my forehead against Lucifers chest, "I wanna go home. Can we go home?"
"Of course. Let's get you in the car first and we'll wait for the other two."
