"Jaliyah." She turned at the sound of her name, to face her best friend Zion. She smiled having no control over it, and fist bumped him. "Hey Zi! What's up?"

His face lit up like a kid on a pack of smarties. "I was just wondering if you wanted to go out for a walk? Before it rains of course."
'Might as well.' She jogged down the stairs before he could say another word. "Babe! Me and Zion are going for a walk. I'll catch you later , i love you bubs." Brandon had said nothing, his eyes were locked onto his phone typing a mile a minute. "Kay."

She didn't know why he'd been acting so dry but she never complained, as she never wanted to argue. She pushed through the screen door followed by zion and walked at a steady pace. "Damn, the fuck is wrong with him?" She stayed quiet. "Zi how's it going with mika?" His laugh nearly echoed through the whole block. "Me and her broke up because I found out she was cheating." She cringed. "Damn, sorry Z. You'll find somebody better!"
"I already have." This completely shocked her and she turned around so fast she almost twisted her ankle. "Stop the fucking music.. WHO?" He waved her finger at her. "Nah uh Ian tellin you shit! Not til I know she likes me back." She punched his arm and laughed at the slight pain in his expression. For minutes on end they walked around the block laughing and talking about personal experiences, that is until..

KABOOM!
That one loud sound of thunder was enough to send Jaliyah into hysterics as she jumped like a cartoon character and screamed to the almighty gods. She felt her shirt start to droop when the rain started pouring down on her and Zion. "Fuck! If I knew it was gonna start raining this early I wouldn't have took you. Damn i'm sorry J.." She smacked him playfully. "Nah it's cool. We lost track of time. Race you there?" He smirked "you know it!"
They both took off, Jaliyah was fast but Zion was faster. He was next to her in a flash, concentrating on beating her. Jaliyah's arms moved at the speed of light and her chest heaved, trying to catch fresh air. She was pushing herself past the limit to beat this tall lanky ass nigga. She leaped on the steps, just as he touched the door. "Ah-" She stomped. "Yo fatass cheated nigga!" they both laughed and took a few moments to catch their breath. "Hey j?"
