Why is my heart aching? For about a month, it's been feeling like my heart has been eaten away. You see, I have feelings for a friend of mine. His name is Aoba Seragaki. He and I have been friends for a long time. I've spent a lot of time with him, and now every time I'm with him, my heart flutters. Heck, if I miss an opportunity to be with him, I get so mad at myself. Like last week, when he, Koujaku and Mizuki hung out, they invited me, but I didn't get the message until the next day, and I wanted to explode. What is this feeling? Have I fallen for him? No, I can't! But this feeling is eating me alive. I am terrified to confess since a number of things could happen whether he accepts or not. But I have to tell him soon. Building up courage, I called Aoba on my coil. He picked up and said, "Hey (y/n)! What's up?"

"I need to tell you something. Can you come to my place?" I ask.

"Sure. Everything all right?" Asked Aoba.

"Yeah." I said.

"I'll be over in ten minutes." Said Aoba.

He hung up, and my allmate Beatrice curled up in my lap (She's a cat, btw.). She purred and said, "Are you going to confess? I know how much you like him."

"I'm scared." I said.

"What is there to be scared of?" She asked.

"We're two guys, so it'd be awkward." I said.

"It'll be fine!" She said.

"I hope so." I said.

(Aoba's pov)

I arrived at (y/n)'s house, and he let me in. "You wanted to talk to me about something?" I ask him.

"Yeah." He said.

"What is it?" I ask.

"It's not going to be easy." He said, "You know...we've been friends for a long time, and it kind of hurts to say this at the same time."

"What is it? You can tell me." I said.

"Don't take this seriously the whole way since I'm not sure about this but...I think I've fallen for you, Aoba." He said.

I was taken by surprise. Out of all things, I never expected him to say this. "The thing is, if you say we should just be friends, it's gonna be different between us. Yet, if we do this, it may work out, but there may come a day where we don't need each other anymore, so our bond between us would completely break. So, even though I wanted to confess to you, I'm terrified of the thought of killing our friendship by starting a relationship." He explained.

What should I do? He's scared about my answer. I've known him for a long time, and I think I may know what to do.

I choose: "I love you too (y/n)." I responded.

He blushed at me. "You do?" He asked.

"Yeah." I responded.

"If we do this, we can never go back." He said.

"I understand." I said.

We hugged it out, and kissed. We've been friends for so long, I didn't think we'd come to this. I don't want to break his heart, ever. We'll see how this all goes down.

(Six years later, no one's pov)

After six years of dating, every nightmare you had in you and Aoba's relationship was gone, because he asked you to marry him! Of course, you accepted. In the end, friends to lovers really worked out between you and Aoba and you were happy with the decision you made all those years ago. Now you were looking foreward to the bright future you had with him.

Answer: "(y/n), I think we should just be friends. You don't seem ready for this, plus I'm afraid you'll be sad in the end." I responded.

(Y/n) sighed and said, "Alright...I understand. I hope things will still be good between us."

I smiled at him and hugged him. "It'll be alright. Trust me."

"It's for the best." He said. "I'm just glad I got it off my chest."

After that, things were a little awkward, but soon you both pushed it off and you two remained friends for a very long time.
