Chapter 3: A letter for the Dead

At Fred's grave

Hermione:

Dear Fred,

How are you? I'm sorry. I know that it's my fault you died. If I had been paying more attention and if my reactions had been faster... you would still be alive, still be here with us. Even though I know that you're dead and that this is weird(?) but I really felt that I have to say something to you. I loved you and had a crush on you ever since you paid a sickle for the S.P.E.W badge. It just amazed me how nice and sweet you were even though I know that you firmly believe that elfs are happy being kept slaves. Is this to formal? I'm not so sure. I'm sorry. I just have NO experience writing this type of letters.

Yes, you are my first crush. I'm sorry to insult your brother but Ron is a bit of a git and I know that I will never be happy being with him. He's just so controlling, and he's sort of weird you know? Like one moment he likes me and the next he's all annoyed and angry... so yeah. I broke up with him and I know that Lavender still has a major crush on him (wonder why) so hopefully that works out and he won't be unhappy when I reject him.

At any rate, I know that this is weird, leaving a letter on your grave and all that but I just wanted you to know how I really felt. I still hope that you fell the same towards me although that is just dumb... I know okay? You're dead so it won't happen anytime soon.

Anyway, enough about me. Here are some updates about your family... Your death really impacted everyone especially your twin. George is doing... I'm not to sure how to put it. He got drunk a lot and he almost closed the joke shop because it held too much good memories which made him sad. Your parents and Ginny managed to persuade him to keep it running because it would honour your memory, but George said he couldn't do it alone. I managed to persuade Ron to help look after it before we broke up. He got really annoyed and told me that the joke shop should just shut down and only agreed to do it when Mrs Weasley forced him to do it. You know your mum, she's extremely scary sometimes. Anyway, Ron and George are now looking after the joke shop although it isn't as lively as it used to be. George and Angelica are together now. Sorry, I know you used to have a really strong crush on her. The way you stared at her was ... intense. Ginny and Harry are happy together and are saying that they want to get married soon. They are all over each other and it gets disgusting sometimes but Harry and Ginny really deserve to be happy. As soon as you look at them you can tell how deeply in love they are and its really touching. Ron, well he's being a git but there are rumours that he's with Lavender so... hopefully it works out. Who's next? Bill and Fleur are together. Fleur is expecting twins! They say that they will call them Fred and Feorge. Which is sweet but sad at the same time. Charlie is coming back to the burrow soon and everyone is happy cause that's the only thing to celebrate about now. And Teddy Lupin is now staying at Harry's place. He's well taken cared off and Harry loves him. I guess because they relate to each other... both orphans and everything you know?

I guess what I wanted to say is that everything is fine, but we all miss you a lot. And all the others who died to.

Life is really boring now. I hope you don't mind that I'm staying in your old room in the Burrow. George and Ron are sleeping above your flat like you and George used to. That's all for now. Maybe I'll write you another letter soon when life gets more exciting. Can you write back? Most probably not.
