And so it begins...

Hermione's apartment

Hermione:

When I first asked Nevile for help, I had hoped that he would want to help me seeing as ow his grandmother had died during the war. In a way, it was blackmail... emotional blackmail. And I didn't like that. I had never liked doing that. But here I was, writing a letter to Fred and asking if he wanted to be alive again while Professor McGonagall and Nevile went back to Hogwarts to bring some of the other professors to my apartment.

No sooner had I finished writing the letter than the ghostly form of Hedwig appeared with another letter.

It read,

"Hi Mione,

Its Fred by the way. I hoped I haven't scared you... 😊 but yeah. You might be wondering how I knew how you were writing to me. Let me just tell you this. Heaven turned me into a stalker. See in heaven there are these small screens where you can monitor those you love. So that's basically what I do most of the time.

To tell you the truth, I'm not to sure if I wanna leave heaven. See, in heaven, the room basically becomes whatever you feel the most comfortable with. And it's really comfortable right now.

Have I scared you yet? I was just kidding! Don't go all frowny on me now please? Of course, I want to be alive again you silly otter!

Love,

Fred "

As soon as Hermione read the letter, she shrieked and jumped around in joy. She couldn't believe it! If all went well, Fred would become a human again! She would finally be with someone who she was positive she loved and who loved her back!

McGonagall:

As soon as I saw that girl jumping around, my intuition kicked in. I know, I know a lot of old people say that they have really good intuition but bearing with Dumbledore for so long? Its safe to say that my intuition is perfect.

As I looked at all my close colleagues and Hermione, my motherly instincts kicked in and I suddenly felt hope for her. She had been and will always be one of my most treasured and favourite students. I wanted nothing more than to make her happy and I was determined to make her wishes come true.

"Well, I'm sure you all know why you're here... Please read the notes that Miss Granger has written and then we shall start." I announced to the group.

At that moment, a knocking spell could be heard. I muttered a curse word under my breath and went to open the door and who did I see but Mr Malfoy, the boy that Dumbledore had died for to protect his purity.

"Hermione. You tell me and Blaise to keep my volume down and here we are trying when you and you pathetic group of whoever it is start making noise at the top of your lungs. Who keeps coming over anyways? Your new boyfriend? I can't believe you you lying—" he trailed of as he realised who he was talking to and I held back a snort.

"Manners Mr Malfoy." I warned.

Hermione came forward and grimaced at him before saying, "Sorry. Malfoy. I didn't want to disrupt whatever disgusting activity you are doing. I didn't know picking your nose required such intense concentration and silence."

Draco looked stunned. Fighting back a laugh, I motioned Draco over. "You have become a magi-zoologist right?" not waiting for a nod, I continued, "Good. You will be of great help to us."

The looks on both Miss Granger and Mr Malfoy face was absolutely priceless. Chortling to myself, I dismissed their protests and led them into her house.

Draco:

I can't believe it. That gorgeous little hypocrite by the name of Hermione Granger is trying to bring back Fred Weasley from the dead. Fred, whom she apparently loves. Yeah... I'm totally not jealous right now. How did I even get dragged into this mess? Right... by Professor and Headmistress McGonagall. Yippee. (note the sarcasm)

Urgh. My entire life had gone wrong in less than ten seconds. But hey, at least I would be working next to Granger right? Maybe if I stopped being such a jerk to her... nah it wouldn't work. I had already been a jerk to her. Oops.

Sighing, I returned my focus to whatever was happening in the room now. Hermione, with her gorgeous brown hair tied in a French braid, was telling everyone how the potion was made. Apparently, we had to find the Resurrection stone which Harry dummy Potter had dropped in the creepy Forbidden Forest.

At that moment, her clear voice said, "Harry, can you remember where you last saw and dropped the stone?"

There was so much hope in her voice that I wanted to sweep her off her feet and hug her. But if I did that, she would most likely punch me. And it would also be awkward. Yay me.

And of course, that dummy, Harry shook his head.

The hurt that filled her eyes nearly broke my heart. I know it sounds cheesy but... she did something to me. I shook my head and in that millisecond, she rounded on me.

'Like you know where it is Malfoy!!" she spat out, hurt and resentment clouding her eyes. So much for not getting on the wrong side of her.
