Hi, so I'm going to add a bit of Dramione in Hermione's flashback and you'll get to know what the flashback means in the later chapters. UwU
The Forbidden Forest
Hermione:
Well, I guess Draco did know where it was after all. He somehow managed to locate the Resurrection stone deep in the Forbidden Forest. And, it turned out to be with Grawp, Hagrid's baby brother.
Why is he almost always right?
The Forbidden Forest
Draco:
Well, guess who's feeling proud of himself? I am! Ha, in your face Granger! I did something useful for the first time in my life. Something useful and meaningful. I suspected that it might be in the Forbidden Forest. And one of the creatures who I knew had a penchant for shiny things (after a quick meeting with Hagrid... but no one needs to know that. They just think I went into his hut to get supplies...) So yeah, Grawp likes shiny things. I might have managed to persuade him to give us the Resurrection stone in exchange for a fake gem. Creatures are so easily fooled.
It was a lot of hard work getting him to exchange the Stone with the shiny gem, but Hermione won him over in the end. To be honest, anything is worth it for Hermione.
Great, now I sound all mushy. Ew. But what can I do? That girl takes up my mind constantly. Even in Hogwarts, I wasn't this bad... mainly because I was establishing a record as #1 school bully.
My life is just awesome.
The Forbidden Forest
Author's pov:
When Harry and Hermione ha been about to enter the forbidden forest, Draco had stopped them saying he needed to get supplies from Hagrid. Despite their misgivings toward Draco, they allowed him his privacy and only eavesdropped for a little bit.
"Shiny things eh? Thanks, Hagrid. I'm sorry I was such a brat during your classes in my earlier years." Draco had said. Here Hermione and Harry had gasped. Draco Malfoy had actually apologised!
"Its fine, can't say I really blame yer. My classes weren't the best. At least yer grew up eh?" Hagrid had replied with a short laugh.
Draco left Hagrid's hut after a while without saying anything to Harry and Hermione As they walked further into the forbidden forest, a sense of déjà vu entered both Hermione and Harry. Wasn't this the route they had taken to see Grawp? Sure enough, not longer then a second later, a loud, "Mione!" could be heard. Draco stepped forward shaking slightly and before he knew it, he had been picked up by a gigantic hand.
"Put. Him. Down! Bad Grawp!" Hermione had shouted when Grawp had started increasing the strength of his grip.
Hermione flashback:
I don't really want to admit it but I was frightened. Really frightened when I realised that Grawp was planning on choking or strangling Draco to death. I mean sure, Draco has been, is, and will always be a jerk. BUT that doesn't mean I want him to die! He can be sweet and funny and polite... when he wants to be. I still remember back in third year, after I had nearly punched him. He had sent me a message telling me to meet him in the Astronomy tower which I had done. He had then apologised and explained about how cruel and mean his family was. At first I thought that he was pulling my leg, or making an excuse. But I saw his small changes to his behaviour and... I sort of forgive him you know? Every now and then when things got to much for both of us, we would secretly send letters and meet in the Astronomy tower.
Things at home aren't always smooth sailing. Sometimes my mom and dad fight a lot. Mainly because my mom wants another baby and my father is done with babies. And also because of the long working hours they have... so yeah, when it gets too much, I used to write to Draco, and he would always be there for me. Likewise, I was there for him when he told me that his father and mother told him that they wanted him to marry Astoria Greengrass the year after he turned of age, and of the immense stress they put him true. I never told Harry or Ronald any of this... because... they have always considered Draco the enemy. But I know that he was just a kid who had no choice. Part of me used to have a crush on him when I was younger... but right now, I feel something and admiration for how he deals with all the stares and whispers behind his back. If I was him, I would have turned mad already!
Anyways, I couldn't really let Draco die... for obvious reasons of course... and for everything he had done to comfort me when we were younger.
So, I did what I had never expected to do. I saved Draco Malfoy. As Harry tried his best to get Grawp's attention I drew in my breath and exclaimed, "Put. Him. Down! Bad Grawp!". Miraculously, Grawp listened and put Draco down. I ran to hug Draco, nearly knocking him over. And, he hugged me back! Maybe I'm overreacting but... I felt really happy to know that he was alive. I dismissed the weird feeling that I had while I hugged Draco.
"It means nothing. You love Fred. That's the only reason why you are putting up with Draco." I told myself.
End Flashback.
After a long and intense battle of wills, Hermione, Harry and Draco managed to get Grawp to exchange the stone for a pretty green gem that Draco happened to have with him. Laughing, the three of them ran out of the forest and for the first time ever, the three of them felt a connection form between them.
