The next morning, Tim was making breakfast and thinking about their life. He could see the family get-togethers and parties in this house. The holiday's they were going to share together. Everything seemed to be perfect. He'd never really been able to see those things with Jenika. No matter how hard he tried. 'Guess I should have taken the eight tries for a date as the sign she wasn't the one!' he mused with a chuckle.
His life was so much richer now that Kalene and Genesis were in it. 'I can't believe how suspicious I was when I first me them!' he chuckled again thinking back to their first meeting. He was attracted to her right off the bat but looks aren't everything. If Jenika taught him anything, that was the lesson he learned. He'd been attracted to her more than anything and was too blinded by that to see anything else.
As he fried their eggs, he wondered what meal his wife would cook for his dad and Jean. He refused to call her his step-mother. He'd loved the meal she'd cooked for his mom and sister. 'She's such a wonderful wife! She's a wonderful tour manager. She's a great mother.' he sighed as he flipped the eggs over. He never thought he'd feel the way she makes him feel again but she swept him off his feet and he was helpless to do anything but just be carried along.
He smiled when he saw Kalene shuffling her way down the stairs and grab herself a coffee mug. They had definitely burned off their dinner the previous evening. She leaned up on her tippy-toes to kiss his cheek before walking around him to get to the coffee. Pancakes were already made, sausages were already made, and the eggs were nearly done. Genesis shuffled her way into the kitchen groaning making both her parents smile.
Once the eggs were done, he brought everything to the already-set table. Kalene thanked her husband for making breakfast for them. "We're a partnership, baby. No worries!" he responded making her giggle. Kalene had to tell her daughter to put her phone down so they could eat in peace and a little huff was heard but neither Tim nor Kalene called her out on it.
They talked about when to have his dad and Jean over for dinner. Kalene was a little nervous about that too. Not so much about Regan. She knew she liked him. He was personable and friendly. Kalene could see where a lot of Tim's personality came from. It was Jean she was worried about. The woman had already made it clear she wasn't liked as Jenika was. 'I'm sure I'll have to restrain myself around her.' Kalene rolled her eyes. A little more discussion and it was decided they'd have them over that night.
Kalene cleaned up from breakfast while Tim went back to his office. Genesis stretched out on the couch to watch tv and text.
Genesis: thanks for the morning text, it was sweet.
Nate: just like you 😘
Genesis: oh stop 😚😚😚
Nate: it's true! So you'll be stuck at home for 6 weeks? What are you gonna do all that time?
Genesis: *sigh* idk 😕😕😕 I'll be staying with grandma while mom and dad hit the road again. Probably help at the food bank when she goes, as best as I can anyway.
Genesis: play games with her. Linda & Paul come over for games so they'll try to get me to play with them too. Rest as much as I can. 🤷 🤷 🤷 🤷 🤷 🤷
Nate: I had a hard time not punching something when you sent that selfie last night. I can't imagine anyone hurting that beautiful face 😠 😠 😠 😠 And I am definitely glad I don't know where they are right now 💪 💪 💪 💪 💪
Genesis: you're crazy! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 Please don't do anything stupid, though. My face will heal just like my ribs. It'll heal much faster than my ribs, though, lol.
