When She Comes Home

The next day went faster than I wanted. I still didn't know what we were going to tell Cecilia. I knew that it had to come from me or else there would be a blood bath between us. I look over at Carter as he pulls into the short term parking at the airport. "We have to tell her. If she finds out about us from someone else it's gonna get nuclear." I mumble as I check the time. We were right on time.

"I already told her sort of..." he suddenly says causing me to whip my head towards him. "She knows that I have a thing for you... she doesn't know we've been you know hanging out like we are."

"Wait What... She never said anything to me about it." I say quicker than I was expecting.

"I told her not to. She had a feeling though when you kept talking about me to her and half the time we're together when she calls anyway. I honestly feel like she knows." He shrugs getting out of the car. I freeze looking out the window still in shock at what he just told me. "Come on get out of the car." He says opening my door. "Henley?"

"How long ago?" I ask him finally snapping out of the daze.

"How long what?" He asks me scrunching up his face in confusing as he gently pulls me out of the car.

"How long ago did you tell her?" I question him as we make our way to the crosswalk. He stuffs his hands in his pocket looking away from me. I hear a muffled noise coming from him. "What's that?"

"It's embarrassing honestly...." he trails off shrugging keeping his eyes on the airport doors in front of us.

"You never get embarrassed." I state keeping my eyes on him.

"Fine if you have to know... I've had a thing for you since we were kids." He shrugs it off walking faster to the baggage claim. "She said number 10 right?" He asks finally realizing I'm still a few steps behind him.

I caught up to him with a smile on my face. "No 12 it's over there." I point towards the area. He returns my smile placing his hand in mine. "I'm not gonna let this go you know? I wanna know more."

"I figured that much. You're so nosey." He winks at me with a playful smile on his face.

"You like it." I reply as we stop in front of the big number 12.

"You know what else I like?" He asks wrapping an arm around my waist.

"Hmmm I think I have an idea." I reply pressing my body against his as he holds me.

"Coffee." He smirks letting go of me as he walks towards a near by Starbucks.

"Asshole!" I yell after him giving him the finger as I hear him chuckle.

"So I see you two are getting along." I hear a voice from behind me.

"Cecilia!" I scream pulling her into a hug not caring if everyone in the area is staring at us.

"He better be getting me something to..." She says lowly hugging me back tightly. "I missed you girl. You've got to tell me everything I've missed."

"Not much has happened honestly. Same shit different day. There is one thing though..." I trail off as Carter walks over to us with coffees.

"And I thought you'd forget about me." Cecilia says grabbing a coffee from him before hugging him. I notice her whispering in his ear before pulling away.

"Here." Carter smiles at me giving me a coffee as I mouth thank you.

"So..." Cecilia smiles looking from me to Carter. "What kind of trouble can we get into tonight?"

"There isn't much going on tonight." Carter shrugs. "We were thinking pizza and movies. The parties tomorrow plus we have school in the morning."

"Pizza and movies.... come on guys I've been gone for months and we're gonna spend our first night together doing something so lame." Cecilia raises an eyebrow looking at me.

"What do you have in mind?" I ask her as the luggage starts coming out.

"A walk down the strip. I bet I can get someone to buy us fat Tuesday's." She says with her Cheshire Cat smile.

"Alright lead the way then." I send her a smile actually feeling excited with her idea. There was something about walking the strip. You never knew what was gonna happen but you always knew that it be a night worth remembering.

"First we gotta get dressed up. I wanna feel like I'm worth a million dollars." She smiles grabbing her bags. At that moment I knew we were in for a ride.
